Lois Garrett Schermerhorn

Lois Garrett Schermerhorn is my grandmother. She might be upset if she knew her pictures were on the Internet, so hush! I'll break the news to her gently. This picture was taken in 1940. She grew up in Farmville, Virginia, and was a nurse. She married Truman Porter Schermerhorn, and had 3 children: Linda, Susan, and Porter.

This is a super-cute picture (circa 1946) of Lois with Linda and Helen Schermerhorn, who appear to be having a lot of fun in a wheelbarrow near their house on Winfrey Road. It looks like my grandmother is making sure they're not getting into any mischief.

Here is a neat picture of Lois on her bike in 1942. I'm not quite sure where this picture was taken. If you look closely, you can see a guy and a horse in the background.
