BRIEF HISTORY

Douglock seems to be the result of the melting of two beings, Doug Ramsey, Cypher of the new mutants, and Warlock, an alien being who also teamed with that group, both fallen in combat.

Douglas Ramsey was at first Kitty Pryde best friend -he even loved her, although he was by then Colossus' girlfriend- , sharing with her their love for computers, which in the case of Doug was natural for he was a mutant, without knowledge of it, whose natural ability was understanding languages, from alien cultures to computer programming.

He stayed for a while in the Massachusset Academy, since Emma Frost wanted to use him for attracting Kitty Pryde into her control, but got rescued by the New Mutants, joining them as full time member when an alien being, Warlock, arrived to Xavier's Mansion, when he was recluted to understand its language.

Warlock was escaping from his father Magus, for in its culture, children must fight to death with their parents for their right to live. Its powers consisted of morphing its body to whatever form it desired.

Since Doug's power was not very useful in a fight, Warlock and he quickly got accustomed to join in combat into an only technoorganical being, although it was extremely dangerous, for Warlock's way of feeding was infecting things with a technoorganic virus to absorb them. The longer the union between the two of them lasted, the bigger the danger of Doug getting infected were.

In fact, Doug seemed to be infected at a very low level before dying shooted by The Right, when he pushed down Rahne (Wolfsbane) to save her life.

Later, Warlock also died at Genosha during the Xtinction Agenda and its ashes were left on the grave of Doug. Somehow, both beings melted in a new life form, with part of Doug's memories, and was absorbed into the Phalanx. It's curious to think that both Doug and Warlock died due to Cameron Hodge's plans and Douglock came to live also due to him (now absorbed into the Phalanx).

At first, Douglock had no memories (at most, flashes of a past life) but had an individual concience even being part of the Phalanx. Later, he escaped helped by Zero (the teleporter robot of Apocalipsis), and joined his old partners to destroy the menace. He teamed later with Excalibur and is currently trying to humanize with the help of Kitty Pryde.
