Episode Three : How to Annoy your C.O.

The two departed members were replaced by a nightbane, and a glitterboy pilot. The G.B. pilot was much embraced by Charlie, who always loves more firepower being added to the crew.

The nightbane began to cause no end of problems. Since he had been rifted here accidently, his idea of how to fit in was very off. His transformation into a eight-armed werespider covered in nails with a biomechanial jet pack (Horror Factor 18) in the packed mess hall almost became a fire fight. The merc's that hadn't run out in terror were now pointing whatever weapon was handy at the nightbane. This ran the gambit from mess trays, to meat loaf, to pulse rifles. Needless to say this didn't endear him to the C.O..

It was especially taken badly by the G.B. pilot who botched his horror factor check, and ran like a lunatic from the mess hall. Once he was calmed down the G.B. pilot then threatened to kill "the f**king bug" if he ever turned into "that thing" again.

After several stints of training at the ranges, during which the ranges were cleared out so "Tarantula", the nightbane, could test in his combat form. However on one occasion of doing so he changed in front of the C.O. while the rest of the team waited outside. The C.O. (who was doing well with his HF checks) botched his roll. Well, since the door was a good distance away, the C.O. decided to make his own door out through the concrete wall, followed by the range instructor. The nightbane then stuck his head out of the hole in the wall to ask "what'd I do?" at which the Glitter boy pilot, and S.A.M.A.S. pilot both ran off screaming in terror (yup...they botched too). This left Charlie, who was trying to figure out what to do about how he was going to be getting the C.O. and the other panicking individuals back to the range, and Hunter, who was bent up on the ground laughing his guts out at the whole situation. This didn't help teamwork or morale any either, nor was it enjoyed by the security borgs who responded to the scene.

The final icing on the cake came when during a briefing by the special operations commander, several members of W.C. refused to remain silent so the briefing could start.

This displeased the commander, who wondered out loud why the C.O. couldn't control his command. The C.O. being very displeased by most of the W.C. laughing at a private joke, rose to tell several of them to sit down. Then threatened by the Nightbane wanting to transform (again) the C.O. then attempted to restrain him by holding him in his seat. When "Tarantula" changed, the special forces commander ran in terror, the G.B. pilot tried to run outside but banged in to the wall in terror, and everybody else dove for cover.

It ended without blood being drawn, but after the briefing the C.O. got reamed something fierce by the S.F. commander.

The briefing ordered the W.C. to Firebase 15 to help with the anti-mechanoid contract. During the flight the plane was shot down at low level. This led to the W.C. bailing out by jet pack with the exception of the G.B. who crashed into the ground, with severe injuries to the pilot, and Charlie who crashed into the ground with the plane but survived with minor injuries. After taking stock of the situation and thinking it could have been worse, it got worse. That was when the mechanoind artillery came raining down.

Charlie, Dragonuv (C.O.), and Fury (S.A.M.A.S.) lay hunkered in the trench made by the G.B.'s impact. The G.B. might have been a lot less happy about the situation if Charlie hadn't injected him with a morphine / L.S.D. (oooohhh...look at the perty bunnies...) combo after stitching his wounds up and then sealing him inside the G.B..

Hunter (Scout) and Tarantula (Scout) went out to search for the ejected pilot and co-pilot.

Hunter found the co-pilot alive but the co-pilot later died during a crash caused by a near hit from Plasma Artillery on the way back to the crash site.

Tarantula found the pilot dead from the plasma and smoke artillery barrage. Tarantula also found a mechanoid attack force, which let to him leaping into a reflective puddle to the Nighlands (at least that's what he thought it was) to escape plasma death.

The episode ended with the three hunkered in the trench none too happy, Fury and Charlie scared about the situation and Dragonuv plotting the murder of Tarantula. And Hunter taking cover until the barrage ended.

Just another day of pay earned by the Wrecking Crew.
