If my life wasn't real, I could dance on the moon. I could kiss every girl and they'd swoon. All my life would be a dance upon roses, I wouldn't get wet at the touch of some hoses. I could fly if that was my wish. I could eat Akane's worst dish. I could see way beyond the edge of the horizon. I could wave with my hand and all of the land would be as I would command If only my life wasn't real. God, I wish I wasn't stuck in reality! The sky was bright and shiny. The birds twittered in the trees, everyone was happy. At least if you saw the world through the eyes of Kodachi. She had just developed a new species of lily. It was red and black and it had blue pockadots. The stem was white and red in stripes. If she had paid more attention to how the world looked around her she would probably have destroyed the flower. As it was she was very happy. So was the flower. -- A lonely figure was walking on a sidewalk. All the streetlamps had blown a fuse for some reason and so it was very dark. The figure raised one of its hands and a white sphere appeared above it, illuminating the street. Gosunkugi's hair was a mess, not that anyone would have noticed this fact normally but ... still. You could see that his hair was a mess since he didn't have his cone-shaped hat on. In fact if anyone would have had recognised him, this would have been what they would have noticed. Gosunkugi was always wearing his cone hat. At one time he had had candles taped to his head, but since Akane found this silly, he had changed it to a cone hat. Gosunkugi always listened to Akane. (I wonder where she is?) He sighed. ((Maybe she's at home?)) (No, I don't think so. She likes me a lot more here than she does at your place) ((In your dreams. I've got her wound around my finger. All I have to do is show her a few more tricks and she will at last express her gratitude)) Gosunkugi turned left as he passed the streetcorner. If you'd look closely at him, you'd see that he looked confused. (Tricks?) ((Well, you know. "Tricks".)) (TRICKS!) Suddenly the ball of light glowed red. (YOU'VE SHOWN HER TRICKS!!!) ((Well yes. How else is she going to notice me?)) (You haven't, I presume, used them directly on her!) ((Urm… what makes you say that?)) The ball formed itself into a cigarlike shape and increased in intensity. (YOU! IDIOT!! NO ONE "EXPERIMENTS" ON AKANE) ((So what, not much you can do from your position, is there?)) A beam of red shot out from the light-cigarr. The beam hit a streetlamp and the lamp melted. (There is plenty I can do, alright. See you in your dreams… betrayer) ((*gulp*)) -- Blue woke up. (Boy that was a weird dream. I won't ever go near an okonymiaki again without thinking of a panda and a huge spatula) He rolled over and started to swim. The air was full of fishes and if he didn't hurry, he wasn't going to get any lunch. After a succesful hunt, he sat down on the blowfish again to eat. -Blue! Someone called for him. He floated upwards to gain a better wiew. It was his misstress. Slowly he drifted down beside her. -There you are, she gleed, I've been looking all over for you. You know that you shouldn't go on a trip without me. It's so hard to stay put when your separated. He nodded his head and yawned. He had heard all of this before. -I thought that I was supposed to look up on the red? A pencil drifted by beside them. Following it was a young brownhaired man. He was wearing yellow pyjamas that were too small for him and he had a toothbrush sticking out of his mouth. He was swimming as if his life depended on it. It might as well have, because following him was a great green shark of money. The woman looked at the event dreamily. -I never tire of this place. Turning back to him, she looked angry enough to scream. -I have never told you to spy on any of us. -I know, but if I knew what the new red was like then I would be able to tell you and... He stared blankfaced at the money shark racing away in the other direction. Soon followed by the guy in the yellow pyjamas who was waving around with the pen as if it was a sword. -Urm, I thought that it would be a good idea. She smacked him over the back of his head. -Did you check out my past before I became blue? -Yes, I did. She snirped her mouth. -Did it help? Screams could be heard from above as the money shark finally devoured the guy in the pyjamas. -It depends on how you see it. -- -But great-grandmother! -But me no buts, grandaughter. You WILL go along with this. Shampoo and Cologne were standing outside the Nekohanten and they were arguing grandly. At the moment Cologne seemed to be winning but she had usually conceded defeat in this matter before, even when she really had won. -You WILL go home for the ceremony. There is no way that you we can delay it any longer. -But Shampoo be humiliated if she return without airen. Cologne glared at her great-granddaughter. -Do you know WHY all the males are moved outside the vilage during the ceremony? Shampoo softly itched the skin between her lip and her nose, after what had happened during the morning she had developed an itch both there and on her bottom. (of course she didn't itch her bottom) -No, Shampoo no know why. Cologne's glare ceased being angry and just became annoyed. -It's because of what we do. If they knew what we did, they would never want to go to bed with us. And I think it would be worse if they went through it themselves, so don't even suggest bringing Ranma. -- -Hi I'm home. Nabiki called out after closing the door behind her. Nobody answered. Nabiki shrugged and took of her shoes. (I wonder where they are) she thought idly and walked to her seat at the table. (Hmm, nobody here) She sat down, unconsiously scanning the table for food. (They can't have finished already? And left nothing for me?) She listened carefully to the sounds in the house. *Groink* (That's the floorboards creaking in the attic) *Tap,tap, tap* (That's probably the rain starting up) *blurp, ptrrr, blurp* (And that's the food cooking in the kitchen) *woooh, wooooh* (Wind, has to be wind) *russle, russle* (Somethings clawing on the door) *creeeak* (The door is being opened) *thid, thud, thud, thid* (Something is walking up behind me!) Nabiki whirled around and stared into two beady eyes. -Waaaak, give's a cracker, give's a cracker She fainted. -- A blue light. Another one. A green one and a grey. The blurred colors passed quickly. It was like watching one dot on the tv while ignoring all the rest. It wasn't easy and it wasn't among the most brilliant ways to spend one's passtime, but if you were tied up there weren't many things you could do. -Where am I? A white blurr, whose head seemed to be on fire, moved over to her. It was small and it moved erratically. It could be male. -Hi there, it said cheerfully, can I make you more comfortable? She frowned. (Where do I recognize that voice from?) -No. -Then it's alright then? The voice carried with it an unusual amount of happiness. As if the one it was coming from had just won a million dollars. (GET ME OUT OF HERE!) She screamed. -Did you say something? It said in a sickeningly happy tone. (YES!) -Well, if that's all. The white blurr moved away, zigzaging between places she couldn't quite make out. (Why couldn't he hear me?) She thought before she dozed off. -- *cadunk* It tried again. *cadunk* (Damn, it won't work) The wolf curled up into a ball to do some serious thinking. (Why did I let that preposterous bird go. He is not good for anything but yelling and saving his own hide. He would sell his mother if he thought that it would make his life better. He would sell me!) The wolf rose up abruptly. (Maybe that's what happened. He got tired of helping me and decided that this "revenge" thing wasn't any of his business anyway) The wolf edged closer to the walls of the pit and tried to stand on its haunches so as to get to the top of the pit. (How the hell did that old man make this pit so fast? Even I couldn't have done it) The wolf's nose barely went halfway up the wall. (What the hell? The pit has grown? How?) It circled around itself, trying to see where it had jumped from the first time. It eventually came to the conclusion that pit really had grown and sat down, confused. (I don't get this, it was supposed to be easy) The wolf began to sob quitly to itself. (WHY, why can't it EVER be easy?) -- Mousse was out in the rain. Mousse wasn't happy. Then again, Mouse didn't have any reason to be happy. Cologne had sent him to pick up Ranma. As a matter of fact, he was as far from happy as he thought he would ever be. (Such a shame that he's wrong) He had for a very long time tried to stop Shampoo from seeing that Ranma was really a man. Mousse had only managed to keep Ranma alive longer by doing this but as he had seen it, if Shampoo ever found out that Ranma was male... (No, I don't want to think about that. When Cologne came to get Shampoo I lost all my chances. If only she hadn't come.) *sigh* Mousse rounded a courner and saw Uchan's ahead of him. (Finally there) *sigh* (I wonder what Ranma will say? He will probably be excited about getting Shampoo once and for all. Then he'll refuse to leave Uchan and he'll probably try to get another one into the cocktail) Mousse violently slammed the door open. A bucket of water fell on top of him. Now he was totally drenched. -- Soun was following his daughter discreetly. Although he didn't really think that she kept "secret" contact with her fiancee, he hoped very much that she did. Looking at Akane you could notice one out of several odd things. One would be that she was dressed in a very bodyhugging outfit. Another one would be that she didn't seem to be wet, despite the rain. Yet another one would be that her eyes were shimmering green. The one that was most stricking though was the one about her glowing a pale blue glow. Akane stopped. She looked up and down on the wall of a building. The wall was lit up by her glow and it looked very creepy. Walking closer to it, she seemed to make a decision. Suddenly she stretched herself out on the wall. Then she waited. Soun was just about to go up to her to see if he could help her get unstuck, when the wall enveloped her. -- The dog stared at him. He didn't move an inch. If there was any way he could get help, he would have by now. (Please, please let this dog be someone I know) Deciding that it wouldn't be harmful, he crept closer. *Splash* Both he and the dog shot a quick look at the door. Soon however, he began advancing again. From somewhere behind the dog he could see a green glow flaring up. (That's the third time, if we don't get away soon I will be in deep shit!) He ran as fast as his black little feet could carry him, bit into the dog's tail and raced out the room. *mwrioarrgh* He stopped at the entrance to the restaurant and let out a big sigh. Once again that nasty statue hadn't done any harm. He took a quick look at his surroundings, making sure that he was still in Uchans. Then he slumped down on the floor and passed out. The dog was safe and the man with the glaces, standing in a puddle by the entrance door, could take care of himself. -- Kasumi looked out into the rain. (I wonder where Ranma is. He should have stayed for the food. At least he would have if he didn't think it was Akane's.) She widened her eyes a bit. (But if he thought it was Akane's, he would have to have listened in on our conversation for a month. He would have to have been at our house a lot of times before now. Wouldn't that mean that he would care for Akane? Or if not her, then at least one of us?) Stepping out from her shelter, Dr Tofu's clinic, she nervously resumed her search. -- -Ranma? Iruka waved his hands in front of Ranma's face. Ranma didn't seem to notice. Iruka then let go of Ranma and moved to the side. (Well, she's not falling at least) -Ranma? It was a joke. Now Ranma woke up. She shook herself vigorusly and faced Iruka with a hard stare. He took one step back and waved his arms in front of him. -I realy mean it, I didn't mean it. It was mistake. I won't say that you will marry Kuno ever again. It has no basis on reality. Other than the fact that I saw it happen, but that doesn't mean it will happen... He let his voice trail off. (What did I just say?) Ranma glared at him again and started jumping away on the rooftops. -Hey Ranma, wait up. He jumped after her. (The day I understand a Saotome is the day find my way home) -- -Wakey, wakey. The parrot aimed a kick at Nabiki's head. Fourtunately Nabiki woke up before the kick hit. (Not that the kick could have done any damage but, if anything, it saved the parrot some pain) Nabiki shook her head and looked at the parrot. Then she felt her stomach and sniffed the air. After smacking the parrot into the wall, she went to the kitchen to get something to eat. -Ouch! (Alright, it didn't save the parrot from pain. It saved him from MORE pain) He wobbled over to the table and steadied himself. Then he continued into the kitchen, where he was sure to get more wobbly. -- -Miaaaaooouuu... The sound drifted on the wind. Ranma tried to ignore it. She had had enough of catlike creatures for one day. She didn't need more. -Miaaaaooouuu... It sounded a bit louder, a bit more insistent. She again tried to ignore it. (I wonder what happened to Hayai?) -Miaaaaooouuu... She could almost see a red object fly across the sky. The object was red, spiky and transparent. It flew nearer her and then disappeared. (What was that? I don't have time for MORE things. It's enough with the trouble I'm in now) She jumped down to the ground in front of her house and walked in. (I wonder where Hayai is?) ----------------------------------------------------------------- --- Can you see the red thread, the yellow or the blue? Can you see the green one in between the two? Take a look at all of it. Can you see it too? It all forms a tapestry. A tapestry for you (Dewin Duvae) --- Author's notes: Just to be obnoxious, here is my list of markers. -Talking about which... (Me as the author would like to add OR better yet a character in the story gets a thought) *Whamm* -(I am so sorry for speaking. No, don't hurt me I'm not moving my lips!!) ((I will not hurt you for I am you... on the OTHER side... of the tapestry)) Thus it is written. That everybody visits the world of dreams. In one form or another. -- Let's go to another place where people can be more coherent. "Thread" in the title Ranko's world and where Ukyou turns into a dog. "Tapestry" in the title Hayai's world. Also the world where the story first started. "Yarn" in the title One of Iruka's worlds... Haven't been to any of those. Great vacation-places though. And this is it, as of yet. On other notes, our guest for the day is nowhere to be found. All I see is a firehydrant in the middle of the studio. Oh well. Duvae@hotmail.com (The dream was something I had! However, I haven't worn that yellow pyjamas since I was eight, might have explained why it was too small) Freemage's Notes Well, now. That explains a lot, don't'cha all think?
