a thought on love

and the truth that hurts me in many ways

no matter how much we guys deny (and I am absolutely sure girls are the same way), looks are very important. Surely there are a few people here and there that not only deny it, but actually do mean it, that they are not biased based on looks. Unfortunate to say, by looks I don't only mean the appearance, but the actual physical beauty of the person you might be attracted to.

I don't hate myself, because I already came to understand (or at least I lie to myself) that my love for girls is genetic, and that the features that I am attracted to in the opposite sex are also a thing of nature. Much like the male peacocks attract female population by their beautiful feathers, in a very similar way - same happens with humans. There would be little doubt in that I would choose a more attractive person over a less attractive person (physical features that is) out of a dating agency (provided a photo is the only way of selecting the person).

Everyone could probably agree that one can tell a lot by looking at a person's face. More is of course revealed by the clothes a person wears, and especially as soon as you hear him/her speaking.

The most comforting thought though - to everyone - is that everyone likes something different. I have met guys that liked girls "with some meat on them - instead of skin and bones" (as that friend said). In other words, surely there is somone for everyone*
