We spent several days in York, and Cory said it was his favorite town, besides visiting a friend at the university, we toured the Minster and Clifford's Tower. We even did the really touresty thing and went to Jorvic Viking Center, which we happened to catch at a moment when the line was short.
Off the beaten path is St.Mary's, a small chuch near one of the market squares. It has some of the oldest surviving pews -- which make strange little booths instead of bein lined up in rows. Some people even have to face away from the minister!
Another good thing to do in York is to walk on the old city walls, and see the old bars -- the portals in the city walls. In York, a street is called a Gate, a gate is called a Bar, and a bar is a Pub.
