The Fifth Race

I liked this episode a lot. A lot of people from England(yes...sometimes I read the spoilers) said to pay special attention to the Screen Saver in Daniel's room. So I did. Well, the screen saver wasn't *hilarious* but I thought it was cute. All these little Egyptains going "doo doo doo" :::Makes funky arm motions:::.

Ooooh. Pretty little grey aliens with neat crystals in their hands. How nice. But I hope the writers make sure not to overuse the Asgard/Greys. We don't want it to turn SG-1 into "another sci-fi TV show with doe-eyed aliens" like the X-Files. Not that there's anything wrong with the X-Files. It's one of my favourite shows. But we've got to avoid turning O'Neill into a raving "THE ALIENS HAVE LANDED!! THEY MONITOR OUR BRAINS!!!" type person.

Speaking of O'Neill, Richard Dean Anderson did a fabulous job in this episode. The "I no speak English" was nice, and you could really feel his frustraition. "Shut up and go away" really summerized that quite nicely, I thought.

Anyone catch some of the web influences in that episode? We got to see *other* members of the SGC working on SG-1's problems. That was the one I noticed the most. I liked that guy with funky hair. He was cool. Reminded me of Einstien (only hairwise...he really didn't seem that smart).

So Simmons is the chevron guy? What happened to the other one? I liked him. BRING HIM BACK!!

Teal'c and O'Neill boxing certainly was a site to see. It's nice to see O'Neill taking all the proper precautions in terms of padding. Especially that padding in the lower part of his body. Really gotta be carefull you know. Never know what sort of sick tricks Teal'c might pull.

I liked the humour in this episode (I would). "No I didn't." "Yes you did." "No I didn't." "Yes you did." Hahahahahahhaaa! I have expected one of them to stick out their tongue at the other. "Poo on you, Jack. I know what my ears heard so ha!" "Well screw you, Daniel. I know what my bouche parled and I certainly didn't parle anything zibarre."

Bottom line: After three months of no new SG-1 episodes, do I think it was worth the wait? I have no idea...well...not *no* idea, just not much of one yet. :P
