Before I say anything I would like to say: Yay Nyan! Nyan is cool! Let's see Nyan again soon! I really liked his character for some reason. Maybe because he's pretty much the first "scientist" that we've met that hasn't been evil (am I right with this? Or have a missed someone?). Plus, he helped SG-1. And now he's Daniel's research assistant. Yay!
Alright, on to the rest of the episode.
Believe it or not, (and I hope I'm not opening up a can of worms here) I actually liked the slightly religious tone that this episode took. There seemed to be a sort of Naturalist vs. Creationalist war going on here (the race that had captured SG-1 being Creationalists, and the others being Naturalists. Not *really* naturalists, but sort of, for purposes of the metaphor). And for once, I'm glad to see a violent reaction to their presence. SG-1 has been going to countless planets saying "Hello, we are from another world. Your entire religion that you have been believing for thousands of years is wrong. Your God is not a real God. He's an alien. And he's evil. Come now, and help us destroy him," and they've pretty much followed blindly. And this one didn't (probably due to the fact that this race was that much more advanced).
I liked the little cages SG-1 was in. I thought they were neat. Although I'm sure RDA, MS, and AT (Look at me! Acronyms! Yay!) may have needed a good chiropractor after this episode. They looked pretty cramped.
Anyone else notice how the guy (I can't remember his name, sadly), pretty much took it that Daniel was the leader of the team, mainly because he seemed to have the most knowledge about things. Jack specifically told the guy that *he* was in charge, yet he pretty much ignored that. Oh well, Daniel paid for it, in the form of getting jabbed quite a few times in the arm by that weapon.
Anyway, overall, good episode. I will have to watch it again, of course. But I liked it.
