Cheat Menu:

This must be done on Controller 1. Access the Options menu, then select 'Continues' and hold Block+Run for about 10 seconds.
You'll hear a laugh, followed shortly by, 'Outstanding...'

     Ending - Turn ON to see get your characters ending after only one fight.
     Fatality 1 - For easy Fatality, hold Down and press HP.
     Fatality 2 - For easy Fatality, hold Down and press HP.
     Level Fatality - Will punch opponent into spikes, except in The Prison...
Note: Only one of the above cheats will work at a time.
 

Play as Goro:

You must first access the cheat menu. Select the Hidden button on the Character Select screen, then move up three, over one to Shinnok, and press Block and Run. Hold both buttons until you see Goro's face on the tournament ladder.
 

Play as Noob Saibot:

You must first access the cheat menu. Select the Hidden button on the Character Select screen, then move up two, over one to
Reiko, and press Block and Run. Hold both buttons until you see Noob's face on the tournament ladder.
 

Play as Meat:

In order to play as the character Meat you must go to 'Group Mode' which can only be played in a two player mode. Play every character in the game (16 in all) and make sure you win every time. After you play and win with the final character pick anyone. Your character will then be Meat. He will have all the moves of the character you selected but will look like a bloody skeleton.
 

Alternate Outfits:

Hold Start and press any button. Your character's face will turn around and you'll see the MK4 symbol - do this up to three times for three different costumes.
Note: Some new costumes come with new weapons...just check out Johnny Cage in the tux!

STORY

        Mortal Kombat 4 is a kind of sequel to the movie Mortal Kombat Annihilation. A banished elder god named Shinnok has been freed by the evil sorcerer Tanya, through a portal. This portal was opened when Tanya invited warriors into her realm. Not knowing that she has opened a portal to the Netherrealm where Shinnok was banished. Shinnok came into Edenia and started taking over. Tanya will try to stop Shinnok. When Rayden, the god of thunder, finds out, he goes for the help of Fujin, the god of wind, to help him protect the world and the elder gods from Shinnok. While this happens, Sonya Blade, part of Earth's Outworld investigation agency is looking for Jarek, the last survivor of the clan of the Black Dragon, she discovers that Shinnok is taking over the realms. When she finds Jarek, they have to work together to gather earth's forces to help the gods. Jax, Sonya's partner, goes out to find her. When he finds her, Sonya tells him about Shinnok trying to overthrow the gods, Jax joins forces with earth's forces. Quan Chi kidnapped Kitana, the princess of the outworld and Liu Kang's girlfriend. When Liu Kang the reigning champion of Mortal Kombat and has defeated Shao Kahn, the emperor of the outworld. When Liu Kang finds out she is kidnaped, he goes out to save her. Liu Kang not only goes to save Kitana, but to help stop Shinnok. Kai, friend of Liu Kang, meets Liu Kang while Lui Kang was on his way to find Rayden. Johnny Cage, the deceased fighter watches his friends from the heavens. Wanting to help, he finds Rayden to restore his sole and help his friends. Sub-Zero's brother helps Earth's forces since he knows the most about Shinnok and would like to help. While Earth regroups its forces, Shinnok also builds his own army consisting of Reptile, Scorpion, Reiko and Quan Chi. Reptile joined Shinnok's forces because Shinnok promised him to fix up his realm. Scorpion, the dead warrior who has died many times, helps Shinnok because Shinnok promised to return him to the living world. Reiko leads an attack against the Elder Gods once and was thought to have died, he is also Shinnok's general.
