History
Long ago, an Faunian Indian's stallion and a wild unicorn mare fell in love. They knew they weren't supposed to be together by the Law of Faunia, so they kept it secret. The mare, wanting to have a foal badly, finally convinced her love to have a child of their own. Soon, a new species was about to happen. The foal was born very healthy. The newborn colt was blacker then the blackest silk. It had a horn and cloven hooves like it's mother, but the tail of a horse.
The jet black foal, named Mirlo which means Blackbird, was raises secretly in the jungle and lived for awhile. He too, fell in love, but with a paint mare. They had a foal too, this time it was a painted horse with cloven hooves and no horn. After about 7 years of this, the new species had been created. The Indian War Unicorn was made.
For centuries the Indian War unicorns worked witht the Faunian Indians. They lived happily together but the unicorns never replaced the horses, because the Indian thought it was a gift from the horse. They all lived peacefully together. The Unicorns could fight almost perfectly in battle so some became War Unicorns. The ones that did, had a choice.
Everything was peaceful and quiet, that is until the disease came. The horrible contagious virus that killed quickly spread throughout the tribe. Many of them died. The Unicorn's stayed with their friends since the disease was only contagious to humans. About a year later after the disease, all of the Indians were dead. The Unicorn's were so sad that they left and hid in the thick jungle. The Unicorn's refused to bred so the population fell untill a small band of 4 were the only living Indian War Unicorns.
The band struggled to survive each day. This went on untill a young woman went exploring the jungle on Faunia. Her name was Brook. (wink wink) She discovered the Unicorns and convinced them to let breed. She then told them that she would let only the kindest of people adopt their children. The Unicorns agreed. So now, the Stargazer band, is trying to recover from the population fall.
To this day on, the Unicorns wear feathers in their manes and tails and have painted symbols on them so they will always remember the Faunian Indians they loved.
Information
Indian War Unicorns got their names since they are half Faunian Indian War horses and half Unicorn. they have the marking's of paints, appaloosas, and a few other colors. They also can come in colors from the rainbow but those are fairly rare.
The unicorn's prefer to live in forests, jungles, or rainforests but they will tolerate meadows and valleys. They don't like wide plains or deserts at all since they like to hide. The unicorn's need a source of water somewhere but they can lick water off of leaves in jungles or rainforests.
The unicorns would rather live with other Indian War Unicorns or another type of unicorns. They are social animals and live in bands. When your unicorn is an adult, it may start it's own band or join one.
Even though the unicorns live in bands, they will only have one mate. They will stick with this mate for life like most other unicorns. A mated pair of unicorns can have up to 3 eggs at a time. Sometimes there are 4 eggs but that is quite rare. I know that the Stargazer Band has only one stallion that breeds with all the mares but that is the only band that is allowed to do that.
