Padgett is released and put under M&S's surveillance. To them, it doesn't seem like anything is happening, but Padgett is talking to his "accomplice" that he has brought to life. He runs down to burn his book, and Mulder runs after him, thinking Padgett is trying to destroy evidence. Meanwhile, back at Mulder's apartment, Scully is running a little behind and runs into Padgett's "ghosty-friend" (okay, I can't remember the name, but I'm trying to wing-it here.*L*) When Mulder runs back up, there is a sad, but shippy moment as you can see below....
