Pemaquid Point Light - New Harbor,
Maine
|
Pemaquid Point is the tip of a peninsula
in the town of Bristol. New Harbor is the
nearest village within the town. This light,
as with most we have photographed thus far,
is easy to reach.
Built in 1827 to guard against dangerous
rock formations in the area, it is one of
the most picturesque. The rocks show the
wear of the sea as this area is prone to
high winds and crashing waves.

to the public as a small museum
and gift
store, with ample parking and
picnic tables
nearby.
