Bishop

Bishop is the android (or syntetic person as he prefers) on board the 'Sulaco'. He has the role of Science Officer and waiter. The Marines makes lots of fun of him, but Bishop don't care or can't care. He becomes confused when Ripley reacts negatively on the fact that he is syntetic. As a gesture of peace he offers some cornbread. Ripley throws them away, discusted of Bishop.
Bishop is a loner, the only syntectic person on board. Noone thinks of him as a member of the crew but a servant. This however changes when the situation comes out of control on Hadley's Hope. The marines then take comfort in his calmness when everyone else has gone into hysteria. Even Ripley manages to be near him after a while. She treats him on another way than the marines, more like a person, not a doll. After a while I guess she grew quite fond of him.
Bishop don't seem to have a real sense of humor, but some of his sitates are quite funny. Like when Ripley's 'spaceshuttle' arrives, after Newt has disappeared.
Ripley: We're not leaving yet.
Bishop: We're NOT?!
When 'safe' on board the Sulaco, Bishop gets torn apart by the Queen. He is still alive and is in the end put in one of the hibernation capsules.

In Alien 3 Bishop gets damaged beyond repair when the rescue capule crashes on Fury. He then beggs Ripley to turn him off. Even if he had been repaired, he would never be at the peak of his previous abilities and he preferes to 'die'.
