I am a misplaced Pennsylvanian from Bethlehem. I have however now become a New Yorker and often complain about the weather. I attended Liberty High School and Moravian College. After Moravian I attended Lehigh University for a year studying for an M.A. in Government. After leaving Lehigh, I worked as a realtor and an adjunct music instructor back at Moravian teaching recorder. I returned to graduate studies at Kutztown University and eventually earned a Masters in Public Administration. Upon completion of my MPA degree, I moved to New York City and married Eve Weiss, a classical guitarist. I worked for CS First Boston for three years, initially on the trading floor on the Mortgage Backed Securities desk and later in the finance arm of the Real Estate Products Group as a Collateral Analyst. When my son was born it soon became apparent that it would not be easy to balance working at CSFB and having a family. So I moved on to the New School University as the Assistant Manager in their new computing lab. I left the New School in favor of the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College. There, I became the Technology Coordinator for the school. After a year and a half of general academic technology and some distant learning, I became the Project Manager for the entire college. Now I am the Director of Instructional Technology. So now I work on projects such as building new labs, developing web sites, training faculty, developing instructional videos and deploying software products such as Lotus Notes and Blackboard. When I pretend to have a life other than at work I play recorder at my son's school where they have in intergenerational ensemble. He is not old enough to be in it yet but I guess I am. |
