1st Volunteer ACR
Name: Colonel Jamison McCord
Assignment: Regimental Commander, 1st Volunteer Armored
Cavalry Regiment
At first glance Colonel McCord seems the atypical
regimental commander indeed...at second glance too for that matter.
At a portly 5'7", sixty-two years old, with bright eyes surrounded by laugh
lines, and sporting a full, pre-maturely grey beard, McCord comes across
more as the saintly grand father every kid wished he had rather than a
sharp minded, battle hardened veteran of forty plus years.
During his long career in the Davion Heavy Guards McCord showed an excellent
grasp of logistics, tactics, and unit maneuvering. McCord was in
semi-retirement teaching military history and tactics at NAMA when he was
offered the chance to help form Davion's new ACR's in 3014, and then command
of the newly commissioned 1st Praxis ACR in 3015. Though critics
of Davion's experiment thought of the project as a sign of Davion's
inexperience, McCord himself jumped at the opportunity.
From the 1st Praxis ACR's conception under Prince
Davion, through it's "metamorphosis" into the 1st Volunteer ACR following
the signing of the F-C Document, and during it's tenure for the Lyran Commonwealth,
Colonel McCord has proven himself an exceptional leader totally devoted
to his men and women. Currently, McCord's priorities are attaining
a land hold for the Regiment's dependants, and the addition of a Pale Riders
aerospace wing.
Name: Major Lorien Walker
Assignment: Squadron Commander, 2nd ACS
Aside from being a briliant tactician, Major Walker
is known for being an extremely aggressive commander. These two traits
in conjunction with his expectation of only the best from the people under
his command has lead to his squadron's elite status among the Pale Riders. Though Colonel
McCord values Major Walker's aggressiveness, it does seem to be a point
of contention from time to time. When Walker personally lead the
artillery raids deep behind enemy lines that crippled a major Laio assault on Redfield from a civilian air car conviscated when both his mech and command vehicle were disabled, Colonel McCord
commended the men and women of the 2nd ACS for their bravery and tenacity,
then promptly invited Walker into his office for one of his infamous "long
talks".
Name: Mechwarrior China Carlson
Assignment: 14th Maneuver Platoon, C Cavalry Troop, 1st
ACS
A relative newcomer to the Pale Riders,
Carlson almost found her career over before it began when she got kicked out of
the Nagelring. An avid skier, it seems that Carlson got the
idea that if she were to lay her Quickdraw, The Lawndart, prone
on a segment of an assault drop cocoon, she could sled up a closed
ski slope through the use of her jump-jets. Luckily, no one was injured
in the resulting avalanche, but over 32,000 C-bills damage was done to
the slope as well as the lodge, leaving her pennyless, in debt, and stranded
on planet. She was about to sell The Lawndart, when Colonel
McCord, having heard that "She ran th' slolom in record time, an' would'a
made it to the top if it han'ta been for that herd 'a jackelopes." promptly
offered her a place in the Regiment.
Name: Captain David Milton
Assignment: Company Commander, 36th Command Lance, I Mech
Company, 2nd ACS
The sight of Captain Milton leading a charge of
the Immortals of I Mech Company onto the field is the last sight
many mechwarriors have ever seen. An imposing man inside, or outside
of his Marauder Luca Brazi, Captain Milton is the man who, "Brings the
hammer down" whenever the the 2nd ACS needs a descisive push.
Name: Sergeant Ellen "Boo" Hamill
Assignment: 84th Tech Platoon, X Troop, 5th Support Squadron
Always tinkering with a servo, banging away on a
stuck actuator, or hanging from her toes inside a mech adjusting coolant
flow, it is doubtful that anyone would be able to recognize Sgt. Hamill without
grease smeared on her face. The daughter of a senior tech for the
Crucis Lancers, Hamill literally grew up in and around mechs. Besides
having a natural feel for diagnosing and tracking down problems in vehicles
and mechs, her small size, at 4'11" allows her to get into places no one
else can without tearing the machine apart.
Name: Sgt. Leonard Wallace and Cpl. Tigger Von Richtover
Assignment: 33rd Scout Platoon, H Troop, 2nd ACS
Sgt. Wallace and Cpl. Von Richtover have the distinction of being the most decorated, most experienced, and most effective of all of the Pale Rider's dismounted scout teams. They are also the only team that has six legs between the two of them. This is due to the fact that Cpl. Tigger Von Richtover is a five year old Lyran Shepherd.
As odd as it sounds, these two make the perfect deep reconaissance team, from tracking the movements of a brigade sized force to those of a lone commando. In addition to their duties with the 33rd Scout Platoon, sometimes they are temporarily reassigned in order to take the point in a Search and Rescue operation, root out the occasional sapper, or locate and eliminated a sniper.
Insepperable on duty or off, when in the field it is almost spooky to watch them work together. Though they might be several meters apart, their actions are so well coordinated that it is sometimes difficult to tell where one ends and the other begins.
Difference in species notwithstanding, the personel of Harlequine Troop accept Cpl. Von Richtover as a fellow brother-in-arms. When recently asked how she felt about having a the Cpl. under her command, H Troop commander Captain Brianna Rice replied, "Corporal Von Richtover is an exceptional soldier. He's intelligent, he follows orders, and he's the only male in this whole damn regiment that remembers to put the seat back down after using the latrine."
