The specialized nature of various units within the 1st Volunteer ACR has lead to it's fielding of two vehicle designes that are, more or less, unique to this regiment. These are the Nimrod cavalry fighting vehicle and the Templar self propelled artillery.

With the newly realized semi-autonomy of the 1st Volunteer ACR following it's re-deployment to the Lyran Commonwealth in 3022, Colonel McCord and his command staff found themselves free of the beurocracy of a regular unit and in the position to dust off and implement a plan to re-fit various mechs and vehicles to make them more condusive to the roles of a modern armored cavalry regiment. This plan, initially concieved in 3017 and named "Project Brave Rifle", called for the development of variants of the DV-6M Dervish medium mech, the JM6-S Jagermech heavy mech, and the Warrior H-7 Attack Helicopter.
