      Blaster.
The Battle Droids employed by the Trade Federation are issued a specialized make of blaster rifle. Designed to be held by mechanical hands, the weapon is heavier than an ordinary blaster and uncomfortable for most humanoids to handle. Some combat droids have been built with permanent guns in place of hands, which ensures that their weapons are always ready. Trade Federation battle droids, in contrast, are built to be generalist troops, capable of setting down their weapon and operating machinery with their hands when necessary. The disadvantage is that the separate rifle of a fallen battle droid can be picked up and used by an adversary.

    Obi-Wan's Lightsaber
      Lightsabers.
The lightsaber is a distinctive weapon known throughout the Republic as the traditional weapon of the Jedi Knight. Jedi always carry their own lightsabers, which they build themselves as part of their training. A weapon of unusual power and capabilities, the lightsaber can be more dangerous to a novice wielder than to an opponent, and only a highly trained individual can hope to survive with a lightsaber against an onslaught of blaster plasma bolts.

    Qui-Gon's Lightsaber
However, for the skilled Jedi, the lightsaber is an amazingly useful weapon which can deflect attacks back at an enemy even as its whirling blade both defends and threatens. The sight of an ignited lightsaber is often enough to end a conflict, since would-be gunmen know that they are likely to find their own deadly shots deflected right back at them.

      Naboo Security Blaster Pistol.
The trained security forces of the Royal Palace Guard on Naboo use specially customized heavy multi-function pistols, ready for action in a holster at the hip. In addition to shooting laser bolts, these sturdy weapons can launch projectiles and even cables, giving the Palace Guard a variety of options for gaining control over unpredictable situations without unnecessary violence.

      Queen Amadala's Blaster Pistol.
Captain Panaka, always mindful of potential dangers, has personally supervised the Queen's training in the martial arts, including regular pistol practice at a secure palace firing range. The royal pistol was specially designed for Amidala and her handmaidens, its size and weight making it a perfect and natural extension of the hand. The Queen's entourage, from the Theed Palace guards to her personal handmaidens, are also trained by Panaka to add to the Queen's safety. But it is paramount to Queen Amidala that she be able to rely on her own marksmanship and her own weaponry to defend herself in a crisis.

    Current Edition:
    Sidearm Weapons

A blaster goes through a multi-step process every time the weapon is fired. First, gas enters the Xciter from the gas chamber and is ‘excited’ by energy from the blasters power pack. Then the excited gas is transferred into the ABM, or actuating blaster module. There the gas is processed into a beam consisting of intense energy particles paired with light. The prismatic crystal housing ‘galvennes’ the beam, which is further focused by the Static Pulse Adaptors and finally emitted out of the nozzle of the blaster.
      BlasTech DH-17 Blaster Pistol.
This semi-automatic is a classic example of a blaster. It has an optimum range of 30 meters and a maximum range of 120 meters. The DH-17 can pierce stormtrooper armor but cannot penetrate the hull of a starship. The gas chamber carries enough gas for over 500 shots, while its power packs carry enough energy for about 100 shots.

      BlasTech E-11 Blaster Rifle.
This weapon is the standard sidearm for Imperial stormtroopers. This blaster rifles range is much greater than that of pistols. It can shoot up to 300 meters, but the optimum range is 100 meters. This is due to the large size of the barrel. As on most blasters, the power pack carries enough energy for 100 shots. The E-11 is one of the few weapons that has an automatic fire setting (although it carries a semi-automatic setting as well).

      BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol.
Favored by smugglers this BlasTech pistol packs the formidable punch of a high-powered rifle into a small sidearm not much larger than the DH-17. The DL-44 favors brute force over finesse. This blaster is extremely powerful and can cause much damage. The disadvantage, however, is that the weapons maximum range is only about 50 meters (optimum is half of that). Another disadvantage is the energy that it consumes; only about 25 shots can be fired per power pack, although a quick release lever allows the power pack to be changed in about 2 or 3 seconds.

      Drearian Defense Conglomerate Defender.
Regarded as more ceremonial than practical, sporting blasters are socially acceptable as sidearms for diplomats and ambassadors. Since sporting blasters create such low-power blasts, they are usually legal on worlds where most blasters are outlawed. The Defender has relatively unsophisticated components ans costs only about 350 credits (half the price of many blasters). It uses a minimum amount of blaster gas and instead relies more on its small power pack. Leia Organna owned one in her pre-battle of Yavin-years, but Darth Vader never returned it to her.

BlasTech T-21 Light Repeating Blaster Rifle.
While medium and heavy repeating blasters provide a substantial amount more firepower than the T-21, they all require a tripod and two or three men to fully operate. This light repeating blaster rifle, however, can be operated without a tripod and by one soldier, (although the tripod offers more accuracy). The T-21 has a maximum range of 300 meters and an optimum range of 100 meters. Although the standard T-21 power packs only offer enough energy for 25 shots, the portable power generator (which is a 20 kilogram backpack) offers virtually unlimited shots, although the generators low-cooling capacity limits firing to once-per-second.

      BlasTech E-Web Repeating Blaster.
This weapons main disadvantage is its long setup time. Overheating is also a problem. But the half of a kilometer maximum range as well as the power to punch through a T-47's hull armor compensates for its disadvantages. The E-Web features an advanced tripod, built-in long-range comlink (with encryption), computerized fire control, computerized targeting system, and a Starvision and infared low-light enhancement modules for use in the night. Used by stormtroopers on Hoth to try to disable the Millenium Falcon, but its main disadvanged–a long setup time–was exploited by Han.

      Jawa Custom-built Ionization Blaster.
Most Jawa ionization blasters are constructed from a blaster rifle with its internal parts stripped (except the power pack), and instead of the laser components a droid restraining bolts and an accu-accelerator scavenged for a wrecked starship. These commoners are hazardously wired together and are quite unreliable. Sometimes they work... sometimes they don’t. The maximum rang is about 12 meters while the optimum is 8 meters.

      Wookie Bowcaster.
Bowcasters are a mix of modern technology with ancient Wookiee customs. The “lightening bow” uses a magnetic accelerator to accelerate explosive quarrels by the use of alternating polarity pulses generated by the two polarizers opposite each other. To cock the crossbow, a wookiee must notch the bowstring in position and load a qurrel from the ammo cartridge, which requires tremendous strength. Because of this Chewbacca, as well as others, have added an automatic re-cock device that allows them to fire more rapidly and with less effort.

      Stokhli Spray Stick.
Manufactured by the Stokhli nomads on Manress, Stokhli spray sticks cost about 14,000 credits and were originally made for big-game hunting. Noghri death commandoes under Grand Admiral Thrawns command, however, found the spray stick to be excellent tools for kidnaping Luke, his sister, and his soon-to-be-born nephew and niece. The sticks shoot a liquid substance that forms a net and dries in mid air to capture an animal (or in the Noghri’s case, people). It also stuns the target. The optimum range is 100 meters while the maximum range is twice of that.

      Merr-Sonn MSD-32 Pistol.
(Tenloss DX-2 and DXR-6 seen here)

Disruptors are much more powerful (and use much more power) than blasters do. Disruptors break down objects at molecular level, leaving only ash behind instead of a corpse. Most disruptors use the brute-force approach instead of utilizing technological breakthroughs. Because of the high energy requirements and crudeness in production, most disruptor pistols can only fire about 7 meters, while the DXR-6 Rifle can shoot up to 20. The MSD-32, on the other hand, is the most aadvanced disuptor in production, circumvents some of the limitations of most disruptors. This pistol allows you to fire a shot about every three seconds (compared to 5 seconds on most), and also extends the power packs life to ten shots, still quite short but not as bad as the Tenloss models. Outlawed just about everywhere.
