Fall Fest '99

Spiderman recently "dropped by" Cecil County and appeared on Main and North Streets in Elkton as part of the Fall Fest. Spidey could only hang around for about an hour, until lunch time. An alleged report of impropriety by the dubious Doc. Octopus and Electro down by the Elk River Bridge on Route 40 caused Spidey to venture away from the festivities. (And you thought it was the excessive summer heat that was behind the power disruptions and brow-outs!) Oh well, such is the life of a crimefighter.

Fall Fest was held in downtown Elkton, with street vendors, food stands, kids activities and a guest appearance by yours truly. I failed to locate a good "perch" from which to center my activities, so I wandered the streets and greeted little kids and faked out a few aware (and some clueless) adults. Not even the cops took my bait for a little action on the street, so I remained a calm Webslinger and modestly scrambled and bounced around the ground for a hour.
