Briefing Room
Name: Harry Kim
Rank: Ensign
Played By: Garrett Wang
About the Character: Harry Kim was an exemplary student at Starfleet Academy and for his first assignment, became Voyager's Chief of Ops. When they were pulled into the Delta Quadrant, he left behind parents, and a girlfriend named Libby. In a shuttle accident made worse by alien intervention, Harry returned to Earth as if he had not been posted to Voyager in the first place. When Voyager was low on deuterium, Harry Kim and Tom Paris volunteered to go down to a Y-class, Demon planet, to get deuterium for the ship. However, an entity on the planet called the Silver Blood made deuterium-based copies of them, and those copies returned to Voyager, unable to survive in Voyager's M-class atmosphere. They were eventually discovered to be copies when the original Kim and Paris were recovered. The Silver Blood then asked the crew to donate their DNA so that copies of them could be made for the Silver Blood to experience sentience. Janeway agreed, and Voyager left behind copies of the entire crew. When Voyager was experimenting with slipstream technology, Harry Kim and Chakotay were sent ahead of the ship to 'ride the rapids' and relay course changes to Voyager. Kim sent back incorrect coordinates, which resulted in the loss of Voyager's entire crew. Fifteen years later, Kim and Chakotay were able to change history by sending a message through time through Seven of Nine's cranial implants and thus saving the crew. Most recently, Kim received a formal reprimand after he disobeyed orders and had 'relations' with an alien named Tal before being cleared to do so by the Doctor. Harry Kim is also known to play clarinet and has demonstrated this talent on Voyager several times.

About the Character: Neelix is Talaxian, a Delta Quadrant species. He and Kes joined the Voyager crew after they were whisked into the Delta Quadrant. Neelix is Voyager's cook and unofficial moral officer. For a while, he was the crew's Delta Quadrant guide, until their journey surpassed his knowledge. When Voyager encountered the Vidiians, Neelix had his lungs stolen by the Vidiians. However, the Vidiians volunteered to implant one of Kes' lungs into Neelix, and he was able to function normally afterwards. Not much is known about Neelix, except his family was annihilated during a war. The scientist who created the weapon which destroyed Neelix's family once contacted Neelix claiming he might have a disease associated with those who went back to find survivors. He was found not to have the disease, but the scientist did and attempted to use Voyager's superior technology to restore the victims of the disaster before he died, but his attempt failed. Neelix was involved with Kes for a while, and was even willing to have a child with her when she entered the Elogium, the time when an Ocampa could conceive a child. Once, when invisible aliens were conducting tests on Voyager's crew, Neelix was genetically altered to become Milean. But after the aliens left Voyager, the Doctor was able to return Neelix to his Talaxian self.
