Destiny's Challenge
Welcome to Destiny's Challenge, where we, the crew of the USS Destiny, challenge you, our visitors, to write a piece of fanfic using the following plotlines and criteria. Enjoy a challenge? Go to it! We warn you, some of these ideas are not for the squeamish, although there's nothing here that would be NC-17 or anything of the sort.
1. Crossover: Star Trek + Anime = Treknime?
Our first challenge is in the dangerous territory known as Crossover Land. Star Trek: Voyager meets Gundam Wing. For those who are scoffing that crossovers aren't dangerous territory, let me elaborate. It does not matter if the Gundams are the ones to be transported to meet Voyager or vice versa. But the meeting cannot, I repeat, CANNOT take place with the assistance of any Q. Repeat, this story must be Q free!!! (I love the Q, but its become a sort of crutch for people who want to do time travel or crossovers to rely solely on the help of the Q. Let's be imaginative, people!) For those who are unfamiliar with Gundam Wing, please check out The Gundam Project or The Shinigami Project for information. Keep it Rated R or less, okay?
2. Missing Scenes
According to "Warhead", Tom had to borrow replicator rations from Neelix to celebrate his and B'Elanna's anniversary. What did they do to celebrate? Before you go scrambling for your keyboards, continue reading the criteria! No PWPs!!! As much as we all love senseless PWPs, they aren't exactly stretching writing skills. Give it a plot, a story, something to interest the readers! As usual, keep it rated R or below, just because Captain Lyra is underaged... :)
3. Role Reversal
What if Tom and B'Elanna's roles were reversed from the beginning? B'Elanna Torres is the beautiful, fully human, hotshot pilot of the USS Voyager [a little adjustment of the names might be in order, but that's up to you.], Tom Paris is the hotheaded half-Klingon Maquis-turned-Chief-Engineer. What will happen to these two? Will they still ignite each other's passions? Or will they end up killing each other long before then? Rated R and below only, everything else is up to you.
Anyone who takes on one of these challenges is guarenteed a spot in Destiny's Fanfiction Database for their story. Send completed story here as either a .doc attachment, a .txt file, or as a URL link with the line "Destiny's Challenge: [Name of Challenge]" as your title. Good luck to you all!
