THE OLD WEST
Races list
Human- If you don't know what a human is, then please contact me, I've been looking for extra-terrestrial life. ;)
Subrace- Indian- The only reason I'm making this a subrace is because I want them to have something different about them, this is the Old West after all, and Indian culture is very different from American culture(and I'm part Cherokee anyway, so that must give me some right). Anyway, Indians are Native Americans, tribal people who believe in many gods strongly. They can be any class, but excel as Braves and Shamans. Indians get a spiritual bonus when casting shamanic spells, and start with a tomahawk as Braves. They are the only humans allowed to be Braves or Shamans.
Werewolf- A werewolf is a human infected with lycanthropy, usually. However true werewolves, this race, were born with lycanthropy and cannot be "cured", nor would they want to be. They usually live in the wilderness, taking on the guise of frontiersmen or trappers. Werewolves have no language of their own, but can communicate with any canine creature. Most werewolves feel a certain kinsmanship with coyotes, wolves, and dogs, and most will attack any human attacking(even in self-defense) a dog or wolf, sometimes even killing cruel masters and setting the animal free. However, they will usually leave kind masters alone, as long as they have made sure that the dog is eating well and being taken good care of ("Hey, why mess with a good thing, it's getting free food and plenty of attention, nothing wrong there"). Werewolves have the same color hair as their wolf form, which is usually red, silver, gray, black, white, or brown. Their eyes are normal human colors though, and shine with intelligence in both forms. This is the only known way of distinguishing werewolves from normal wolves in their wolf form. Werewolves can be any class, although they prefer to be something that fits their wild lifestyle, and can shift to wolf form and back once per level per day.
Coyote Men- Coyote men are believed to be the spirits of deceased Indians reincarnated to help their descendants. Coyote men are typically shorter than most humans (4'5"- 4'10") and have short gray or brown hair all over their body. Their eyes are yellow or brown. They usually weigh about 45-70 lbs. Coyote men have the basic facial features of a human, excluding their distinctly coyote-ears on the sides of their head. Their face has less hair covering it than the rest of their body, looking more like a man who hasn't shaved in a week or two. Coyote men can be male or female, although the above description fits both sexes. Coyote men have a language of their own which consists of a series of barks, yips, and howls. Coyote men can also speak English easily, but prefer to speak their own language when amongst themselves. Human culture typically accepts the coyote men, due to the number of trade agreements they have, although there is much prejudice against them. It is not uncommon for a human to try and cheat a coyote men when trading or selling something to him/her. Coyote men typically live to about 50 years of age, although they can live longer. Coyote men can communicate with true coyotes at birth, and usually have a coyote pack near or around their home if their are many Coyote men together. Coyotes will usually come to the aid of any coyote man in trouble if they are within a half-mile of him/her and both creatures will fight to the death to protect one another. Coyote men can be any class, but excel as Shamans and Braves, although they are limited to the Coyote god: Latrans. Most coyote men live together in packs or tribes, and will usually make their dens in unexplored caverns and caves, or canyons. All Coyote Men have a strong sense of kinship with family and friends, although there is an increasing number of lone Coyote men adventuring to help their tribe or an Indian tribe, or just to make a name for themselves.
