Diablo II Game Info:
First, Blizzard introduced Five all-new character classes with unique attributes and abilities. These characters are the Amazon, the Necromancer, the Paladin, the Soreress, and the Barbarian. Then in the expansion set, two more characters were introduced, the Druid and the Assassin.
At our site, one can read, first, the stories of the Khanduras' (or the Blizzard version) characters, followed by the unique histories of the Celestial Eclipse characters. Our stories differ slightly and we have a more detail history on hand (as we are from the Realm of Khardaras, sister realm of Khanduras).
Diablo II also contains:
- Four different, fully populated towns complete with wilderness areas.
- Multiple dungeons, caverns and crypts in every town for players to explore.
- Expanded world filled with all-new quests, weapons, spells, armor, monsters and non-player characters.
- Advanced combat system which incorporates class-specific fighting techniques and spells.
- And of course, Full Multiplayer support, including Internet play over Battle.net. With multiplayer capabilities, you won't have to journey alone in the quest to destroy Diablo once and for all.
Blizzard's Battle.net service will also feature a built-in ladder and ranking system, so you can compare your characters to gamers from around the world. And get this, ALL THE QUESTS FROM SINGLE PLAYER WORK IN MULTIPLAYER AS WELL!!
D2 has 4 CD-ROMs disks -- though only one is used for playing, and the others are install discs, etc.
Diablo II will not require 3D acceleration hardware, however, those with supported graphics cards will experience additional visual enhancements. Currently, only a variety of video cards are supported by Diablo II.
With Diablo II, a player will experience:
- improved transparency effects
- improved lighting/shadowing effects, such as colored lighting and smoother transitions between light and dark areas
- atmospheric effects, such as fog
- and a faster frame-rate
