It is later the next morning, as Perry gathers his fellow Planet reporters together. "Now look!" he rants, showing the headlines of their rivals and then their own pape: "The Post: 'IT FLIES!' The News: 'LOOK, MA --- NO WIRES!' The Times: 'BLUE BOMB BUZZES METROPOLIS!' The Planet --- we're sitting on top of the story of the century here! I want the name of this flyin' whatchamacllit to go with the Daily Planet like bacon and eggs, franks and beans, death and taxes, politics and corruption!"

"I don't think that he would lend himself to any kind of cheap promotional schemes, y'know, Mr. White," Clark suddenly comments.

"Exactly how would you know that, Kent?"

The others wait to hear Clark's response. But Clark is nothing if not one who is willing, or perhaps, unwilling, to tip his hand to the force of vanity. "Just a first impression?"

"Well anyway, who's talking cheap? I'll make him a partner if I have to, right?"

"Right, Chief," replies one of the female reporters.

"I want the real story! I want the inside dope on this guy!" Perry growls. "Has he got a family? Where does he live? What does the S stand for --- Stanley? Sheldon? Steve? How does he fly?"

While Perry continues his pitch, Lois has been quick to notice a small note in her hands. She silently reads it:

Tonight @ 8, your place. Hopefully, a friend.

"A friend!" she whispers to herself. Might it be the friend who rescued her a few hours ago?

Meanwhile, Perry continues his briefing. "Tony, who is he? Mike, what's his name? What's he got hidden under that cape of his --- batteries? Why did he show up last night? Nick, where does he come from? Does he have a girlfriend?" Here, Lois giggles, just silently. "What's his favorite ball team, Kent?" Perry continues. "Now listen to me! I tell ya, boys and girls: Whichever one of you gets it out of him is gonna wind up with the single most important interview since ---- God talked to Moses!"

The crowd of journos nods. For they now know that their mandate is clear. "What are ya standin' about for?" growls Perry. "MOVE! Get on that story!" And move they do. Because what hard-hitting journalist would risk it all to land the exclusive interview of a lifetime --- a shot at going one-on-one with this mysterious flying stranger.........
