Genetic Wars |
Originally concieved around 1986-1987 as simulated arena fights, the "Genetic Wars" became a developing storyline shared between myself and long-time friend Thomas Weigel in the last few years of the eighties. We brought the timeline to its finality in 1991, though characters from it would live on even today in alternate universes created in the late portions of the storyline, when technology reached the near-unfathomable.
The storyline itself continues to evolve today, though the small body of work here on this site fails to justice to the massive span of the whole timeline. In the last two years, I have started writing down a series of short stories, with the ambitious goal of chronicling the highlights of the saga, but the sheer size and scope of the storyline is such that my work alone is not going to be enough to bring it to full fruition. None-the-less, ambitious goal-oriented projects such as National Novel Writing Month have brought to fruition a substantial portion of the Genetic Wars' prequel Lycanthrope, even if it hasn't yet produced a replacement for its working title.
| The massive project to chronicle the timeline is under way, though I've only covered some events of the first two centuries or so. As humanity rebuilds following an alien invasion, political forces vie for control of the nations of Earth, placing in the struggle for balance the new technologies of advanced electromagnetics, psionics, and genetic engineering.
I also have a comic story I did a few years earlier, depicting in the tradition of Anime an arms race that ensues between two individuals trying to occupy a planet. |
