Set predominately in the year 2076, this story ties in my novel Lycanthrope and the events of the centuries to come. It's written as a stand-alone story, so you don't have to read a ton of dribble and notes about background stuff beforehand. In fact, this story is intended to be the entry point to the Genetic Wars storyline.
The world has just recovered from a humiliating defeat against an alien force that occupied Earth and subjected humanity to bizarre genetic engineering experiments. But, as civilization rebuilds, political forces vie for power. Spacecraft captain Rick Adamo finds himself and his ship the centerpoint of conspiracy as entrepreneur Anderson Conus approaches him with reverse-engineered alien technology.
Alien-engineered lycanthrope Xau Zolan suffers a disabling wound, and through his recovery the elderly lycanthrope mastermind Scott Gardener hires him for his remote viewing talents to investigate his rival Thomas Shann.
Scott Gardener approaches the American government, urging them not to join Thomas Shann's growing empire and warning them that Shann's government threatens to coerce genetically engineered people into a caste of slavery.
After fifteen years of cold war, Thomas Shann's forces have taken the offensive. As war breaks out, TRI-STAR operative Minh Nguyen suffers an unexpected complication and Rhonda Collins reveals her secret legacy from the Cozalien War.
In pursuit of freedom on a distant world, the L.G.F.F. League undertakes a difficult exodus. But, even as they leave Earth behind, Thomas Shann strikes a deadly blow against Gardener and his sixty-five thousand allied refugees.
Anderson Conus assembles the crew of his starship and the friends of Scott Gardener to rescue his digitally rendered soul, held captive and subjected to mindgames inside a shadow realm created by Thomas Shann.
The League's worst fears are realized; the Cozaliens have returned. In the small star system of Lutyen 726-8, directly between Earth and Utopia, the crew of Conus One reunite to investigate.
A mysterious alien artifact sends Rath, Xal, and the Conus family to the year 2004, where they face the philosophical ethical dilemma of whether or not to use their knowledge of the future to save lives but alter history.
In my first online comic, and in the spirit of a lot of anime of varying quality, this story chronicles Teflex Xal-Xanessa and Warlord Kimberly in their struggle to claim planet...either Beowulf or Ohmar-Kimberly II, depending upon whose map you're reading.
