There are two ranking systems in the Sky Patrol. One applies while a member is assigned to a ground-based job(usually at the Sky Harbors). Thay are as follows
Pay* Portside On Ship 75gp Watchman Crewman 150gp Sergeant Petty Officer 300gp Corporal* Bo'sun*---------------------| 600gp Watch Commander Quartermaster---------Ships Navigator 1200gpCommandant Captain---------------Ships Wizard
Both systems fall under the Vice Admiral, in the following hierarchy:
2400gp Vice Admiral
4800gp Admiral
Lord's Council
*All pay is on a per week rate.
*All ranks above Corporal/Bo'sun are considered officer ranks.
Ships Navigator and Wizard represent alternate rankings. They are equal in authority to the equivalent ranks, though a captain always has final say in all matters ship board. These positions may be held jointly or singly in various cases due to the size of the vessel in question.
Both commandants and captains have a great deal of autonomy in dealing with their internal affairs. Also, while all captains equal commandants, the same is not true amongst captains. The captain manning the larger vessel is always senior as he is entrusted with the most responsibility.
Another practice common amongst the officers of the Sky Patrol is something called "the finding." This is when an officer voluntarily undergoes Psychic Surgery to bring out a wild talent. This practice started as a search for any form of aid in battle.
