Eons before the the loss of mighty Del'Garath, Moradin looked upon his creation and grew angry. For lo, the rot of Lolth had grown far and wide. In his anger, Moradin smashed the world with his forge hammers. Thus was Moradins Basin formed.

-excerpt from the Book of Moradin

a bloody moradins Basin is encircled by three mountain ranges and an island chain. The largest of the three mountain ranges is to the north. It is called the Blades of Winter for the fierce hell-storms that rage there. The Winds Teeth are now seperated from this range by the Abyssal Plain known as Hells Gap. This was once the home of the dwarven nation of Del'Garath. In the East there is a range known as Moradins Arms. Both the Winds Teeth and the Moradins Arms Ranges fall into the sea to form the tropical Del'Gar Island chain, which is home to the smallest of human city states. The River Ringard drains Moradins Basin into the Bay of Moradin. The City of Mirrors stands at the mouth of this river on the ruins of Myth Annaman.

And Moradin stood back, and lo, the earth was riven asunder. Where once gentle spring rains had fallen, searing rock and sand now stood.

-excerpt from the Book of Moradin.

The plains west of the Winds Teeth Mountains were shattered by the force of Moradins Hammer, and so have come to be called the Riven Plains. This inhospitable land is a stretch of cracked and broken wasteland for hundreds of miles. The Rhine-ko River runs through the middle of this wasteland, bringing a verdant life to its shores.

"But those coins are from Ghal'far! See, they even show a blizzard upon the steppes!"

-Fel'den, an inept counterfeiter as he's hauled away...
Ghal'far is built upon a deserted steppe just north of the Diergan Desert. This desert was once a tropical rain forest, but has since dried up.
