Reports have reached the Rag offices of a major fight last night involving none other than the Arch-Redemptionist himself. The gang fight involving no less than five gangs took place near the settlement of Tatarenda where the cracked dome opens out into the wastes outside. This reporter obtained an exclusive interview with the leader of the pit-slave gang, Gorg's Avengers, as they returned to Old Sump Falls. This is what the Captain had to say.
Having heard that the Arch-Redemptionist was in the area, working with the Cawdor Gang, the Painless, I made enquires to find out exactly where they were; I'd heard reports of his crusades burning whole villages before for not paying tithes to his Emporer. When news came back to me that they were near the dome's edge heading towards Taterendda I headed out to warn Barder and the POUM.
With both our Gangs together we went out to meet the Painless. We were expecting a simple fight between us and them but being this close to the wastes we attracted the attention of some Ash Nomads who thought we were attacking thier territory, some Ratskin's also turned up looking to force people out of the hive and into the wastes. Both theses gangs were dealt with swiftly, the POUM shot down the Nomads whilst we beat a couple of 'skins to a pulp. Both gangs immediatly lost any semblance of good leadership and fled.
With the distractions out of the way we adavanced on the Painless as they hid in cover. Some shots from Barder's people made them somewhat less painless. So it was looking like it would be a pretty straight forward victory when the pigs turned up, two full squads with some other geezers too, one in the strongest armour I've ever seen with a really weird gun and the other with a strange force-field. Anyway Pietro made the first of the Painless pay before being burnt by a flamer whilst around him the fighting continued against the Painless.
With the arrival of the Arbitrators those near the Painless were left without backup as we had to deal with the new threat. The squad near me were shock troops so they couldn't shoot at us but I warned the lads to be wary of the strange gun the armoured bloke was carrying. Knowing that shooting wouldn't have much effect on shock troops with suppresion shields Mr. Fixit charged in hurling one to the ground before another three of them charged him. Having survived the suppression shield charges Mr. Fixit was able to fell two of them and scare a third off before the forth one managed to clout him with a power maul. Meanwhile Stark, Vance and myself decided to try our luck shooting the other one and the armoured guy. This proved in effective and they started throwing grenades at us, Stark caught a krak grenade in the chest but was tough enough to take it. Knowing we wouldn't take so well to krak granades Vance and I charged. Vance took out the trooper whilst I attacked Mr. Armour, this guy was good and I was unable to defeat him quickly. Stark flamed Mr. Fixit's conquorer setting him alight and Vance joined me in my battle. The final shock troop got over his fear and started throwing gas grenades into the combat before Stark burnt him too. Eventually after we'd both inhaled several lung fulls of this gas Vance fell to the ground chokeing leaving me fighting alone again, fortunately I managed to beat him before the gas overcame me. With the pigs defeated, Vance pulled himself out of the gas and the three of us went to join the main battle.
Whilst we'd been dealing with our squad of Arbitrators the POUM had dealt with the others although Barder was nowhere to be seen. The fight with the Painless had been bitter and both Blake and Pietro were out of action, most of Barder's men were down too, fortunately the Painless weren't in much better shape and the Arch Redemptionist was already bleeding on the floor. With the reinforcements from the fights with the Arbitrators we were easily able to defeat the Painless. It had been a long hard fight but the victory went to the people in the end.
Early today the Arbitrator Precint released this statement.
We can confirm that two of our squads were involved in last nights fighting. They were there to arrest or execute known felons. We continue to investigate the current whereabouts of those involved.
When asked about the two mystery men no comment was made, and this reporter wasn't going to push them for an answer.
