The United Nations first orbital space station, Monitor One, was staffed by an international crew of scientists, technicians, and military, of which Stricture was one of. Shortly after the station's completion, it was caught in the tail of a previously uncharted comet. Strange radiation from the comet's tail penetrated the station's defensive shields and caused the majority of those onboard to die a grisly death.

A select few members of the crew, Stricture included, carriers of a rare genetic trait, survived the disaster but soon began mutating into inhuman, super-powered beings. Unable to cope with the tremendous powers granted them, the survivors went mad, eventually joining forces as the Warguard in an attempt to conquer their home plant. It was only at the cost of thousands of lives that a U.N. military task force was able to put a stop to the Warguard rampage.

The Warguard are held in a state of cryogenic stasis on board Skywatch. The are to be loosed only in the event of gravest threat to the earth by outside forces.

One such threat was when Helspont , a Daemonite Lord, attempted to destroy the earth with the power of a Daemonite Dreadnought, the same one that brought the Daemonites to Earth.

After besting Stormwatch, and against Weatherman Two( Synergy )'s advice, Stricture, along with Despot , Judgment , Talos , Hexon , Nychus , and Doreen , was released to deal with Helspont . The had no such plans. Under Despot's control, the Warguard fought against Stormwatch. Stricture was captured along with the rest of the Warguard when Despot died. He currently is back in cryogenic stasis onboard Skywatch.
