Dr. Alkazar
Dr. Alkazar was a scientist working in a desert lab somewhere in Oregon. He was friends with Chip Chase and created an antimatter formula, a formula that Chip himself helped to create. One day, Dr. Alkazar gave Chip a floppy disk that had information enabling Chip's computer to talk to his computer, "Betsy Brainiac". The Decepticons seeking the antimatter formula attacked Bumblebee, Spike and Chip when they where leaving the lab. Getting away, Bumblebee brought Chip home and headed off to the Ark to rally the Autobots. Chip frantically tried to contact Dr. Alkazar from his computer while Megatron broke into the doctor's lab. The doctor sent him the antimatter formula in response. After the Decepticons found out what happened to the formula, they went after Chip instead. Dr. Alkazar is not seen again; we assume he escaped the lab.

The events in the Japanese cartoon continuity are identical to that of the US cartoon.
