The story so far: After sleeping with Buffy, Angel experienced one moment of happiness. In this moment, his soul was destroyed and he reverted to his previous evil self. Angel tried to cause Buffy the most amount of pain by threatening her friends, killing the woman whose gypsy clan had cursed him with a soul: Jenny Calendar, Giles' girlfriend. Meanwhile, Xander and Cordelia began dating, and were eventually discovered by Willow, and Willow started going out with Oz, even after she discovered that three days every month, he becomes a werewolf. At the end of Season Two, replacement slayer Kendra was killed by Drusilla to aid Angel's plan to open the gates of Hell. Spike helped Buffy stop Angel by taking Drusilla out of the equation, but shortly after Angel had opened the gateway, Willow succeeded in restoring his soul. It was too late. Only Angel's blood could seal the gateway, and Buffy was forced to kill him, and send him to Hell to suffer years of torment. After this, and after her mother found out she was the Slayer, and told her never to return home, Buffy left Sunnydale, seemingly forever…
