A visit to Newfoundland to claim his alleged throne leaves Stan having the stuffing beaten out of him, Kai joining a band and Xev discovering alcohol while Prince tries to find a way to make the LEXX crew stay on Earth and a double of Stan causes havoc.
It's a shame that all these elements come to nought really. Xev doesn't have much to do beyond getting drunk and seeing Stan die, revealing just how much she cares about him as a friend in a touching scene. Introducing Stan's twin is a fun if underused idea that simply allows 790 to kill his longtime enemy, with Xev next on his hit list. This more proactive approach is fun and adds to the new malevolent attitude the robot head displayed in Xevivor.
Kai's turn as pianist allows Michael McManus to demonstrate his singing and playing ability once again, but by creating background music he pretty much becomes part of the background himself. All credit to music maestro Marty Simon, however, for providing some clever variations on the Brunnen-G war song that turn it into an Irish folk number.
Brian Downey, meanwhile, doesn't get to act much differently to normal as Stan's doppelganger, who, like Mr Tweedle, is obsessed with sex and material gain. His main function is to get Stan into trouble, and this kills any kind of plot for the last of the main cast. Yes, there are some funny moments, particularly between Prince and Priest, but the story needed more filling out and some speeding up to really work well.
