Fremantle came to town for the first time in 1999, and right up until the day itself I was a little undecided as to whether or not it would be worth attending. Counting against my attendence was the fact that my main partner in crime in attending Fremantle games, my brother, had fled the country. Also against my going was the fact that the game was to be held at The Phone Box, which now has about 50 general admission seats left. The fact that Freo had gone three games without a win didn't help, but lets face it, you don't go to a Freo game in Melbourne expecting to see a win.
Final Score : Carlton 19.7-121 defeated Fremantle 14.8-92
