This game was played at that most unnatural time for a game of AFL football - 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. As a result there was no live coverage of the game in Melbourne, and as I didn't feel like going down to Geelong to watch Freo take a pummelling, I only heard the result after the game was all over. By all reports I didn't miss much, as the game was not much of a spectacle, but at least it wasn't a thrashing as I had feared it might have been.
Final Score : Geelong 12.4-76 kicked much straighter than Fremantle 6.18-54
