James William Mumby

I come from a long line of farmers and before that blacksmiths. I farmed with my dad in North Dakota until 1956, when my wife, Grace, son David and I moved to the Seattle area where I worked as a draftsman for Boeing for 37 years, retiring in 1993. I wrote poetry in my spare time for about 15 years, but when I retired the well seemed to have gone dry until getting back into genealogy and spending time at my "desk" again. We had two daughters, Diane and Denise, who have given us 6 grandchildren (5 boys and finally a girl). I want to computerize our family tree so they will know their forebears even though they won't carry on the MUMBY name.
