WHAT'S HAPPENIN' ?<>

(...tada!)

Where do I start?

It's been a busy season. I finally managed to get through all the digital problems, bugs and software conflicts I experienced creating the CD containing images of my European Tour. (If I get enough inquiries we might just post it). Two of my photographs won me awards.

This summer I particpated on a panel at the Santa Barbara Writer's Conference and met some enthusiastic and talented writers. On Labor Day, I rewarded myself at Bill Cannon's Writer's Retreat at the Circle C Ranch. While I was doing all this, cavorting around the country, my son, Richard, and his wife, Lily, presented me with a new grandchild, an eight pound, eight ounce baby girl. Family matters will really accelerate now.

Our classes are going well. The new one - A Novel Beginnning - is meeting with enthusiasm. I also won an aqui-IBM award, that's what! (another tada!)

We have been selected to judge the Global Information Infrastructure Awards in the Arts and Entertainment Division. Watch for it.

Where you can find us on line.

One very exciting development has just been announced. Okay, hold on to your digital hats, folks. (Let's have one more - tada!, What again?) About our distance learning classes: We have fabulous news about a member of our first group! One of our very special students has won an award for his production of the CD Extra, Quidam, for Cirque du Soleil. You can find out the details about Andre, the course or writing for interactive media by e-mailing me.

TWO BY TWO is a program which is now growing exponentially. It's for all the women who aren't yet on line for any number of reasons. At the time of the Women's Conference in Beijing I made a commitment that I would teach two women to use the net provided each of them would then teach two more. This gig honors that commitment. BTW, any of you in cyberspace are free to adopt the idea. E-mail me if you do. I'll be glad to hear from you.

Do the Write Thing: Making the Transition to Professional published by Myriad Press, (copies available from the author -- of course) sales are going well. We are having a year end sale. Check with us at Do The Write Thing And -(Not another tada ??? - This is starting to sound like a brass band. Great sound, though.)

There is a brand new Writer's Guru Page where writers can find just what they need. Ask him anything; grammar, industry procedures, writing tips.

Our column at Hollywoodnetwork is up and running.. We answer your questions and if we don't know, we ask someone who does - a faculty member, ya know! If you have heard of the 7th Guest, you will want to read what Robert Landeros, the creator, had to say about it in an interview on his home page.

A Few More Bytefuls: The Web Developer's Virtual Library features some book reviews I've written about technical subjects like using HTML, Managing Memory and Web Site Wizardry. I'll have some additional reviews going in this month.

One more thing. If you are not getting our newsletter or would like to recieve our bulletin, "10 Submission Errors and How to Avoid Them ", just ask. E-mail us at wryter21@excite.com
