Cyprus College of Art
Applications
Places on all programmes offered by the Cyprus College of Art are very popular and so you are strongly urged to complete and submit an application form as early as possible.
Different programmes have different application procedures, so please read the following instructions carefully, make certain they apply to the course you want to apply to, and if in doubt please ask!
Foundation Course in Art and Design
You should be aged at least 16 when you intend to start the course, although we welcome applications from adults of all ages. To apply you should complete an official College application form and return it to the College by 1 June 2009. Late applications will be considered for this programme if places are still available.
Do not send any other documents with your application.
Your application will be judged on two things. Your personal statement on the application form and the personal reference we receive from the teacher or other referee you name on your application form.
Associate Fellowship in Fine Art
Only apply for this course if your sole aim in life is to be an artist. The tutors have no interest in training you for anything else.
You should be aged at least 18 when you intend to start the course, although we welcome applications from adults of all ages. To apply you should complete an official College application form and return it to the College not later than 1 March 2009. After 1 March 'Clearing' places will be offered if there are any remaining places on the course.
Do not send any other documents with your application.
Applicants that are selected for interview will have the choice of attending an interview in either London (England) or Cyprus. We will contact you if necessary to arrange this. To the interview you should bring with you a portfolio of your previous artworks, including drawings, colour studies in paint or other colour media, and, if you are applying to train to be a sculptor, three dimensional studies (or photographs of these).
Please note there is no alternative arrangement to attending this interview in person.
Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art
You should have completed, or be about to complete, one of the following:
- an Associate Fellowship in Fine Art (Cyprus College of Art)
or
- a BA degree in Fine Art
or
- equivalent to these.
We will also consider applications from people without these qualifications providing they have significant other experience of making art.
To apply you should complete an official College application form and return it to the College not later than 1 June 2009. Late applications will be considered if there are still places remaining.
With your application form please send approximately fifteen photographic reproductions of relevant art work you have made, either as paper photographs or a CD-Rom. Please label your photographs very clearly.
Cyprus Summer Studio
Places on the Cyprus Summer Studio are allocated on a first-come-first served basis, with no other selection procedure. To apply you must use the Summer Studio application form only. The Summer Studio is only open to people who are professional artists, art students or committed amateur artists, although we are also happy to consider applications from other arts practitioners, such as musicians, writers, etc., who feel they might benefit from an art school environment for the summer.
