Administration: Employment Whilst Studying

If you are a citizen of the European Union, or Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein or Switzerland, you are entitled to work during your residency in Cyprus without restrictions. Most overseas students who do take paid employment tend to do so in bars, cafes and restaurants where the ability to speak Greek is not usually necessary. As a major tourist destination Cyprus has a lot of these establishments and so paid work is usually easy to come by, although the wages do tend to be very low in Cyprus.

However, in order to preserve the integrity of your studies the Cyprus College of Art places a restriction on any paid employment that you must do no more than 20 hours paid work per week (including weekends) during term time. There are no restrictions placed by the College on working hours outside term time.

In addition you must not under any circumstance miss taught class time at the College due to employment commitments.

If you are not an citizen of the European Union, or Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein or Switzerland, paid work is not a possibility.
