The style manual of the Modern Language Association (MLA) gives guidance for writing scholarly manuscripts and student research papers. It concerns itself with the mechanics of writing, such as punctuation, quotation, and documentation of sources. Because of the large number of students in the discipline needing help with mechanics, the MLA documentation style is my bestseller, together with guidelines published by the American Psychological Association and the University of Chicago Press.
