The Northafrican saddle is always equipped with at least one breast girth to avoid the saddle sliding back.
In Morocco, a second girth (collar) with only decorative function is added above the functional breast girth. It is called "dir tlemsani", what means "breast girth from Tlemcen (Town in Algeria)".Like all the other parts of the equipment, this breast collar is richly embroided.
