The "Boca da Mina" Restaurant at the Gold Mine.

This restaurant near the opening of the gold mine serves great regional food from Minas Gerais including the best "feijão tropeiro" I´ve ever had. "Comida Mineria" uses a base of garlic and salt and includes many pork dishes, collard greens and pumpkin in addition to the omni-present rice and beans. It is a small family-run restaurant with only 15 tables. For lunch try the "frango com quiabo" (chicken and okra) or "lombo com feijão tropeiro ou tutú mineiro" (pork steak with a bean dish). Reasonably priced.
