Tim's Promise Keepers Page

Official Promise Keepers Home Page

Includes a fact sheet, the seven promises, their statement of faith, schedule information (seasonal), and much more.

 New Man Magazine

"The Official Magazine of Promise Keepers." I got the URL from a Promise Keepers mailing list posting a couple years ago.

Promise Keepers newsgroup

Finally, a moderated newsgroup emerged this year to open a constructive forum for men and women to discuss the Promise Keepers movement. You'll find my contributions when I have something to say. I feel privileged to have testified to the power of God in helping me overcome slavery to sexual sin.

Promise Keepers mailing list

Not officially sanctioned by the Promise Keepers organization, but with over five hundred subscribers, this mailing list is one source of wonderful Christian fellowship on the 'net. (Not for men only!) As the charter would imply, this list focuses on issues by those striving to be men of God.

PK is Not a Club

I have received some inquires, probably because I am listed as a Colorado Promise Keeper at Tim VanFosson's site. The correspondents seem to think that one is a Promise Keeper in the same way that one is a Mason or a Jay Cee or an Elk. I don't see it that way. Early on, membership cards with unique constituent numbers were issued. I still have mine. However, the Promise Keepers organizers realized that their ministry wasn't about membership, it's about changed lives. I consider myself to be affiliated only because I support the movement in prayer and action. Personally, I have attended a WakeUp call in Colorado Springs in 1995, the 1995 Denver stadium event, the 1996 Denver stadium event, and Stand in the Gap in Washington, D.C. in 1997. That's the current extent of my direct involvement. I consider myself to be a Promise Keeper only so far as I remain faithful to the Seven Promises which define the ministry. Although critics disagree, I believe that focusing on the seven promises is a perfectly legitimate method of demonstrating my faith. For the record, I don't claim to keep the promises perfectly. The label "Promise Keeper" is insignificant! What matters is that I have given my life to my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and that I strive every day to obey the Lord's commands as put forth in Holy Scripture.

What was my experience in Denver, 1995?

Read about it for yourself.
