BARONIAL OFFICERS

The SCA officers of are loosely designed after those of a Medieval European manor, and are named after comparable offices of such a setting. Sometimes there are only five officers, but this can change as the group grows.

Baron and Baroness

Chiefly ceremonial officers, they are the reigning nobles of the barony, who hold court and induct members into baronial orders.

The current Baron and Baroness of Concordia are Rob and Joanne Williams.

Senechal

Chief executive officer of the group, like a club president. The officer in charge of and legally responsible for the branch as a whole.

Snowflake Pursuivant

The Baronial Herald, the officer in charge of assisting members design and register period styled names, devices, and badges. Herald can also be the title used to refer to a person making announcements at events or running a baronial, or other level, court.

Chancelor of the Exchecquer

The chief financial officer, in charge of managing, recording, and filing reports to the appropriate higher officers.

Chatelaine/Castellan

The officer in charge of helping new members more fully join our group. Chatelains coordinate demos and often keep loaner garb and feast-gear for new members to barrow for events as needed.

Chronicler

The officer in charge of publishing a group newsletter. Sometimes the Chronicler also acts as a group historian or archivist.

Minister of Arts and Sciences

The officer in charge of fostering the study of arts and sciences of the period. There are several groups, sometimes called guilds, within the Barony that specialize in various arts, such as brewing, singing, dance, cooking, etc.

Knight Marshal

The officer in charge of teaching and overseeing the activity of armored combat used in medieval tourney re-creation.

Marshal of Fence
The officer who organizes and coordinates teaching and overseeing the activity of light combat used in medieval fencing re-creation.

Minister of Lists

The officer in charge of keeping records of authorizations for fighters and assisting the Knight Marshal and Marshal of Fence in the running of tournements.

Chancelor Minor
The officer who organizes and coordinates, with the help of parents, childrens' activities at events.
