 Some scholars now believe that the Pyramids were built to represent the arrangement of stars that are known today as Orion's Belt. On a wider scale, the Milky Way as seen from Earth in relation to Orion's Belt, corresponds to the location of Nile in relation to the Pyramids. Were the ancient Egyptians creating a celestial map on Earth to aid a deceased pharaoh's spirit (Akh) on its journey to the afterlife?
