THE BLITZ BRITS (also now known as THE MAROONDAH BRITS.). The group was formed in 1995, the 50th anniversary of the ending of WW2. All were women who had experienced the bombings of their home towns in Britain. Since 1995 there have been changes, husbands of members have been welcomed as honorary members. Among the present group there are quite a few too young to remember wartime events but who have heard of them through their parents. At the present time the members gather together twice a year for meetings in Ringwood, in May and November. Also twice a year for lunch at the Vibe-Plaza in the city, in February and August. All other months they meet for lunch at various restaurants in the eastern suburbs were the majority reside. The subscriptions is a low $10 annually.
