All-day free entertainment on stage including Morris Dancing (see picture left), folk dancing, folk singing, pipe band, City of Frankston Brass Band, address by the Lord Mayor, plus over 40 stalls, a range of other entertainments, military displays, historical re-enactments, Punch & Judy and other children's entertainments, plus 12 British beers on sale in the clubrooms. BritFest2000 successfully showcased the contribution of British Isles culture to modern Australia.
It was held in Frankston on 21 February 2000. Frankston is a bayside suburb of Melbourne with the highest percentage of residents of British stock in the entire State of Victoria, and is therefore a suitable venue.
BritFest2000 was solidly promoted, particularly on the Mornington Peninsula. Promotion at this level involved the Frankston Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the local community radio station, the local soccer club, ABC radio 3LO, and many other well-wishers. As a major cultural event, BritFest2000 also received statewide and national publicity.
Live entertainment representing Australia's heritage in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, both traditional and modern, was featured. This included music, food, drink, costume, modern science and technology, and our hallowed British folkways.
Every effort was made to ensure that BritFest2000 was family-friendly. Young couples with babies found that they were as welcome as older people bringing along their grandchildren for a great family excursion.

BritFest2001 was held on Sunday, February 18, 2001, from 10 am until 4 pm at Frankston Park (the home of the Dolphins Football Club), in Young Street, Frankston, Victoria.
This event was similar in format to BritFest2000 - and BritFest'99 before that - only even better! Many more people who wished to promote their British-oriented products, services, hobbies or activities booked stalls to promote their particular interest in British Isles culture, and our unique Australian development of many of the best aspects of that culture.
BritFest2002
Despite the successes of the three previous BritFests, the one scheduled for 2002 had to be cancelled owing to the massive recent rises in public liability insurance costs - particularly since the collapse of a major insurance company, and the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Centre.
