by Julie McCarty India Christian Partnership 2000 India Christian Partnership 2000 conducted 5 Seminar/Crusades in India during February, 2000. The February campaign ministered to a broad spectrum of evangelical groups, with over 700 churches represented at the seminars. Each seminar will hosted between 70 and 275 indigenous pastors. The seminars were heldin the cities of Pune, Bangalore, Visak, Shillong, and New Delhi. Evangelistic crusades were held in the evenings with thousands of people attending the special meetings. Those pastors attending the seminars assisted with the ministry to the public during the Gospel crusades at night. The object of the seminars was to provide enrichment to what is often a very minimal Bible education. The indigenous pastors suffer much in their efforts to plant churches in very remote villages. Frequently they are spiritually deprived of the most essential training needed to combat the situations that they face in their struggling churches. They live and serve God in very isolated locations without any viable support structure. The seminar provided training, exhortation, fellowship, and counseling to strengthen the ministry - the pastors returned to their villages refreshed and ready to resume their ministries. India Christian Partnership 2000 is a vision of Dr. Neil Chadwick who was the key speaker at the seminars. After traveling abroad four times previously on seminar endeavors, a need for a sustained ongoing venture in India pressed heavily on his heart. The country of India has a population of one billion - an enormous mission field requiring the best efforts of all evangelical groups working together within India. Dr. Chadwick has launched India Christian Partnership to be used as a mission tool for the indigenous church of India. Evangelist Jack Kinard from Fort Smith, Arkansas teamed up with Dr. Chadwick to provide evening evangelistic crusades for the public. Reverend Kinard has a well established evangelism ministry, traveling extensively in the USA and occasionally outside of the country, preaching the Gospel. India Christian Partnership incured an average cost of $15 per Pastor to administer this campaign. The costs include transportation, meals, lodging, and seminar materials for the Pastors. Many of the Pastors travelled great distances to attend the seminars. They have very modest incomes and are not able to cover their entire expense, and for that reason, scholarships will be offered to any Pastor who attends. Therefore, funds have been raised to underwrite the project cost.
