        QUINTESSENCE
Quintessence of my being, I’ll constantly strive to keep my body pure,
because you’ve graced these varied parts with your life giving breath.
I’ll always try to stay one with truth, because you are truth and have
lit my path with the light of reason.

and keep the gift of your love blooming deep within my being, because
it adorns with flowers the shrine that’s the heart within my heart,
and I realize that is where you live within me.

And it’ll be my constant goal to be one in thought, word and deed,
behaving in private as though I were in public,
and in public as though I stood before God, as indeed we all do:
for you graciously have given us this gift of life, and we owe you everything.

       MINES
The sibilant sound of leaves
merge with shadows on the grass,
beneath the hovering kisses
the dead are abandonly making love.

Listen. The night is dear to the dead,
I see the desolation in the sepulchral eyes
of the spiritually deceased, the hungry moon,
and mines of faded green forests,

of salt mines
where rivers of humanity flows
their soft voices murmuring
in measured syllable verse.

       A GAPING WOUND
The contorted line of torture
retraces the superannuated lit fuse –
geometry of the universe
inexorable truculence
repeatedly obscured in seizures
eager to prematurely reach
the violent end.
And, down the unfolding labyrinth’s
mirror lined corridors
comes infinity’s insouciant embryo
with pristine light
on the face’s features
and the soul shackled fugitive
castes out of its conch calling:
to be another gaping wound.

       GUARDIAN MOOR
              (Magic Flute)
You scurry out by design
obtuse in self interest
as a pile driver, as a clenched iron fist
in the velvet glove; and yet,
of the fallen angels the most devious
to get your stories told:
you assume your position behind home plate:
in the cosmic web you helped spin.

Deep in the bowels of the house I met your relation,
monster in the dungeon,
in the corner where the circuit breaker set:
near her tiny temple beside the ants route,
by comparison, a huge black and hairy brute,
she dexterously snared her victim
and left it dangling plainly visible.
Tightly bound in the sepulchral web

of her lair she wrapped her strong sticky yolk,
round and round the ant in a winding sheet
ever tighter in the shroud
already veiling the grayish tombstone
where wrapped in coils,
caught ants hang suspended
in torpid “ACHTUNG”, or deathly still quietly swaying
an exoskeleton sucked to a husk.

There she sat legs extended
surrounded by a graveyard of insect corpses
appalling to perceive,
to the barbaric perspective, from there
somnolently waiting Spring, or her next challenger,
who cautiously waits in the wings,
near her undersized mate
a martyr to concupiscence.
Meanwhile, in the dark theatre
twin columns file by persevering in their paths
no scruple could disturb and divert,
from their narrow little ruts, obeying orders the ingrained instinct
of the nest ‘til pounced on and insidiously hauled up
and sucked dry by a powerful black lord
no symbiotic whole here, like aphids and ants, ex systema.
And, even though apparently aware, still, they persist strangely undeterred.

       DECEITFUL STEREO
In early evening the music professor had hardly critically listened to the entertainment center’s stereo, when it called to him with a ludicrous harrumph, in caterwauling arpeggios, as if clearing its throat of phlegm, from an old Fr. operetta.

   First, it was the Mother Melissa, the maid, scolding that idiot Eliot,
the awkward adolescent, for letting the shaving kit of Mr. Roth fall and spill
all the after shave powder on the floor.

   And, Mr. Roth, petulantly picking up his old fashioned shaving kit,
and Paul, the graduate student and right wing operative, boxed pureal Eliot’s
ear; and, Jezebel, another right wing operative whore and harpist, dried a tear of malicious laughter, and Eliot stretched a snowy grimace clear across his face.

   But, soon, in the moonless night Paul who said he forgot a flashlight, begged
His friend Eliot to unlock the door so he might warm himself, with the result that the thief
Stole the accomplice girl along with the old man’s cash that had been left lying
in an envelope in a dresser drawer.

   “To Hell with George Bulfinch, the sales person who sold me this stereo!”
cried professor Roth, shutting off the stereo and closing the dusty door. The stereo
components’ circuits were broken.

       THE MAN THEY MURDERED
The man they murdered
is busy making magic, reading stars
from the window in my room
in the silent space of empty night.

People pass through my life,
which takes time because its vast as the universe;
and, the last one is she who courses in my veins
a fiery golden darkness.
Its late, and ants are marching;
the house ghosts hum as though tone deaf,
and the man they murdered
is breathing regularly beside the bed.

The Willamette Valley: where long draws aimlessly meander
filled with dove gray mists, and where
the sun sets red like an open wound
bathing the Willamette Valley in soft light.

Rain falls steadily all over the city,
wind drives its nocturnal noises out over
a vast sea of silence, and a solitary dog barks,
at the sound of sirens swelling the night.

Honey, do you hear the siren,
do you hear the rain, do you smell the faint fragrance
of decaying leaves? Do you think all this moisture
is bad on your lungs?

Hey murderers, your time is coming, too.
You’ll get yours where I did,
so you can be reborn
as an eagle…….

I’ve got insomnia,
so I’m sentenced to listen ‘til dawn.
I hear the rising tide of the city,
unnoticed both siren and barking dog are silenced.

But, its too late!
Closer, its step is coming closer:
an iron band constricts around my head,
my mouth tastes like wormwood…..

Trees erupt incarnate from the fog
that springs up from the ground…
Indra crouches behind a monolith
waiting with a lightening sword.

He neither knows nor cares
what my life may have accomplished,
he’ll impale my soul and discard it
not knowing what or why.

I resist as best I can, but I’m too weak.
I grimly get up.
I too, will die,
in a morning drained of shadows.

       PORTLAND PASTORAL
Good old city of roses.
Wonderful place to kill time,
provincial and now oppressed, too;
but, time still flows down its dark deserted streets:
as empty as the heart.

Facades, headlights sweep,
faces with watchful eyes.
The reformed city that works –
for reduced 3rd world wages,
by compulsion.

By the main arterials, off the curb and in the gutter
hands hold home-made signs to the traffic,
the ubiquitous destitute individuals
always willing to work for food.
A contrived tragic sight – Achtung!

Let the winning party,
of the supposed nonpoliticized offices,
carve them into ersatz statues of Portlandia,
thin and emaciated the “new” Burgers of Calais:
to cast some shade, on our shadow devouring futures.

       THE RESORT
There sits a resort perched on a hill,
   unlike any you’ve ever known;
no one pulls up to stop and just sit still
   no mailman has delivered any mail.
The spacious rooms yawn neglected –
   neither voices nor noise do they hear;
nowhere is the presence of man felt;
   there is nothing but idyll equipment there.
Clocks keep perfect time,
   circuits never over heating,
as their hands efficiently wheel over their thin lined,
   uniform and expressionless faces.
Occasionally, the phone expectantly rings
   the predictable answer machine always responds the same redundant way.
Before expansive windows, birds recorded voices sing,
   their mutually reflective surfaces form into a perfect square.
A road snakes its way up the hill to the entrance,
   down its gray sides run twin parallel lines
that appear to merge together off in the hazy never arriving distance,
   and on it in an endless stream
course cars from morning to night
   and inside the vehicles are drivers and passengers
all alike they sit shrouded in silence and deathly white.

And now, as the synchronized clocks’ hands
   strike as one, the long and dark midnight revue
roulades begin the performance,
   as appropriately a cuckoo arrogantly emerges.
Eagerly, Paul pushes to the podium,
   with a passive aggressive air he tries to loom over the mike,
where he stands with measured dignity; and yet obviously displays feelings of odium
   as the intercom excitedly erupts and interrupts from somewhere overhead.
“Silence! Silence everyone!
   Everything must be perfect,
when the Master comes!”
   Such a flurry of furious activity resounds through out the resort!
Cars pull up and disgorge their occupants, and then, head for the parking lot,
   where they stand around waiting on their round rubber feet.
Everything expectantly waits, there’s not even any small talk,
   each is waiting, immersed in its own thoughts for the Lord’s Will.
Suddenly, piercing the silent hollow dark, a bell’s 12 measured tolls is heard.
   The ensuing silence has an air of heavy finality;
but wait, a small grating noise breaks the final word,
   with such a shrill sound a devil might make a razz berry.
From out of the depths of the phone
comes the news “the Lord is indisposed.
He will not come today, He is laid up ill at home.”
   And, with that a curtain of silence descends,
the cuckoo retreats behind its tightly shut door,
   the roulade falls still, and the crowd pours out of every door in torrents,
cars falteringly start down the hill ‘till soon everything’s as it was before,
   wheels measure off weary minutes with the miles,
and the world’s network of roads
   grinds into gear , a phantasmagoric in the dark.

       COFFIN NIGHT
The coffin night was deluged
with torrents of clear liquid fire
the copper colored prayers
interred themselves inside
its rectangular space.

In this red body with severed roots
black eyes and black hair
a shaken tree in ghostly wind
this once seraphim
rain effaced face
dissolved itself with secret assistance.

The pogrom flames
diffuses in veins
saved from worse than death
all rush toward significance

as tom toms accompany ancient chants
and music proudly plays
in a duplicitous resurrection
ashes, ashes all fall down….

       TE DEUM
Oh solitary love, please pity me
from out of this abyss where my poor heart resides,
a barren World lies buried beneath leaden skies
where night unleashes its horrors and blasphemy.

During day the Sun hides unseen behind its torn garments of cloud;
and at night our land lies buried beneath a desolate desert,
a dark wasteland steeped in iniquity
empty city, empty streets devoid of anything green.

Never before has such sorrow and horror been seen
this icy light exudes cold cruelty, this vast expansive night,
global chaos spawned by greed and ignorance, another stupid age,
extends barren and bleak in a nocturnal polar scene.

If only I were like the dumb beasts, who oblivious
live a life immersed in now, a simple string of physical pleasures –
but, wisdom is acquired, in company with sadness and pain,
mining knowledge for the root of truths that today are too often hideous.

               RUMOR MILL
   The following are the opinions and beliefs of the Rumor Mill.

   The object of this essay is to establish pragmatic parameters of conduct for either individuals or combinations of groups in a contemporary Democratic country, with a heterogeneous population, in order to protect the citizens’ Civil Rights and promote a solid foundation of social stability that’s necessary for a safe society. There are two principle internal threats prevalent in Democracies today. The first threat comes from antisocial and misanthropic individuals who constitute society’s criminal element, which only directly effect less than 5% of the population. The second threat comes from institutional abuses of power, which are generated while supposedly trying to protect society from criminal instances of the first type. This type of domestic attack on a nation’s Liberties is insidiously difficult to control, because they aren’t recognizable until after they are already realized, and once established they are extremely hard to correct. Ironically, it’s the second type that causes the greatest damage to individual’s Civil Rights in a Democracy.
   The purpose of both society and laws is to protect its members. Internally, this is accomplished by promoting public safety. The implementation of security measures usually consists of a combination of compulsion and control. Physical force and imprisonment head the list of compulsory measures. Fines, social ostracization and coercion of programmed public opinion whose current extreme forms often manifest themselves in harassment, physical and psychological torture constitute current efforts at control. In Democracies the populist movements that have the misfortune to be usurped by extremist elements often employ measures political leaders including dictators usually never embrace, in their endeavor to court and maintain popular support, which makes populist forms of tyranny potentially the worst form of oppression possible.
   Axiomatic in Democracy should be the following absolute standard in support of freedom. The sole purpose power can exercise over the individual is to prevent the direct harm to others. The “good” of any individual, either moral and/or physical, is insufficient to warrant interfering with the Liberty of action of any member of society. Of course we are not referring to a parent-child relationship, where a certain amount of coercion is inherent in the relationship. Self-protection is the only legitimate reason to justify arbitrary restraint. Rationalization, to justify either forcing an individual to forebear, or compelling them to behavior against their will, because it will make them happier in the opinion of the majority, wiser, or even if it’s the right thing to do, is not adequate. It may provide a good basis to present to the individual arguments to try and persuade and reason with them; however, it is not adequate to violate their independence, which should be held paramount. The individual must be the author of their own fate.
   A nation which does not respect its citizens Civil Rights is not free even if its form of government is a Democracy. The only purpose that Civil Rights represents is that of pursuing an individual’s own interests in their own way, so long as they don’t attempt to deprive or impede others in pursuing theirs. For who else is in a better position to determine their own interests than the individual? Only in states that champion Liberty does society attain the greatest degree of happiness possible. Mankind will immensely benefit by tolerating the individual to live as seems reasonable to them self. The alternative is to compel others to live according to the dictates of others, a scenario that inexorably results in a corrupt vice ridden society.
   Today, there are many who say that this belief is idealistic. They hold that for each individual to be the guardian of their own destiny is dangerous to the future of our nation’s youths. But, society has recently observed what transpires when people attempt to compel others to conform to their beliefs. The country now is afflicted with a class of career criminals, who have blasphemously placed themselves between God and society, and beyond the reach of the law. The results have included slander, fraud, extortion, rape, prostitution, perversion, systematic child abuse and murder. The extremists (any individual and; or group who plan and manipulate others into committing such actions and who do not tolerate plurality of opinion can accurately be defined as extreme) have seen fit to pay themselves rewards for apprehending individuals who commit the criminal acts which they have planned and executed, with the assistance of the new virtual reality technologies. The consequences have been disastrous to our Democracies.
The temptation for human nature to cheat and cause ever greater numbers of groups of people to become targeted is too great, and, the negative result for society is to experience an artificial increase in crime with all of its waste and increased costs, specially in perverse types of high profile crimes (like the deplorable Michael Jackson affair where some are claiming children were deliberately prostituted to be sexually abused for propaganda purposes) in part because of the financial benefits obtained by members of the radical right. Initially, the individuals who comprised the radical right only opposed homosexuals, IV drug users, and the consumers of their contrived crack epidemic (a staged social crises designed to provide a pretence for usurping Civil Rights and transforming society into a police state - which will be explained more fully later - while generating private funding sources for the radical right’s covert operations in regional conflicts around the globe which in turn were designed to acquire for the factional interests of the radical right control of natural resources like natural gas fields in places like Columbia and Indonesia) and which provided them with the sets of experiences and rational which eventually warped their personal beliefs making them able to justify to themselves interfering with the rights of others. Then, having established the injurious precedence of usurping the rights of others the radical right endeavored to find more victims to target in order to sustain their artificially increased standard of living; so, they negatively transferred their oppression to other groups like marijuana users and in some instances consumers of alcohol. This accomplished two objectives. First, it allowed the power elite to condition the U.S. to be oppressed which was felt necessary for them to accomplish their goal of replacing the exhausted source of corporate welfare in the post cold war era that the industrial-military spending represented, with privatized entitlements that are to include Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. Second, it provided the radical right operatives with a badly needed infusion of new potential victims, for the heroin and coke users only represented 1/2 % of the population most of whom were already busted while the marijuana users alone represented a potential market of 75% of the adult population, which was enough to keep the radical right operatives busy for at least a generation. But, they did not account for the efficiency of their technology coupled with the effect that their monopolizing the distribution of the recreational drug trade was to have in targeting individuals. It made busting people as easy as shooting fish in the proverbial barrel. Simultaneous to this sequence of events the radical right, like the Nazi brown shirts before them, began to attract extremist elements who were criminally oriented. The utilization of the then new teleporting virtual reality technology and invasive technology created the ability to manufacture monsters and create crime almost at will. Unfortunately, while the low level perpetrators were caught and convicted, the master minds and their field operatives were never apprehended and repeatedly committed the profitable criminal activity again and again in various communities across the country. What previously were fairly rare crimes like certain forms of perversion became common, as adults were routinely being perverted and children prostituted and abused.
Locally, a recent example of this criminal activity seems to have occurred when after a feature series of stories on Indian social problems at the largest reservation in the state appeared in the media-propaganda machine, a suspicious death occurred, when just in time for the Sunday edition an Indian youth drank himself to death at the state school; an event which may play to certain racist stereotypes, but had never happened in the history of the school before. And, the week before another youth who wasn’t an Indian was supposedly induced into raiding his mother’s medicine cabinet (a person the radical right disapproved of) and took an overdose of one of her prescriptions. In the upper Willamette Valley the state experienced two deaths in as many weeks.
Some believe the radical right murdered the two youths. It was observed that the radical right had been operating in the community in a concentrated fashion for a protracted period of several years. They had run out of ready victims, and so to maintain their elevated standard of living they were creating victims, using the belief that subliminally induced victims who committed crimes provided their own justification for the radical right planning and causing the crime to occur. Several of their most recent targeted victims no longer had any thing to do with the recreational use of drugs, and resulted in the sexual abuse of children. The targeted individuals who were manipulated into crime were either dissidents or disliked by members of the radical right, and all of the criminal acts were said to have resulted in bounties being paid by the radical right to their operatives who were involved in the operation. The radical right doesn’t tolerate any divergence of opinion from their doctrine, which is a sure symptom of irrational fanaticism and tyranny; because, a leading characteristic that God gave our species when we were created was diversity, and to contend that no one can disagree significantly with you and that you have the right to attack them if they do, will inevitably condemn a certain number of individuals to become hypocrites and others to be attacked for no other reason than the crime of holding an honest opinion. Further, it was becoming more frequently said that the radical right were establishing subliminal predisposition, which made it possible to attack individuals who previously wouldn’t have been attacked and induced them into to committing crimes, only because they were disliked by members of the radical right, in other words because of personal differences and personal vendettas. The consequence was that the radical right was becoming subject to increased criticism for capriciously and arbitrarily abusing power. The consequence of this radical right abuse was that people were perverted and children sexually and physically abused for no other reason than the greed and corruption of radical right operatives and the appetite of the propaganda machine.
In response to this development, it is believed that these two tragedies were manufactured. It was supposedly done for optimum propaganda value. The secondary benefit was to try and re-establish the radical right movement to its origin and link them with the drug free America pretense. It was cynically believed they could take advantage of the years of propaganda efforts and repair their tarnished public image. The radical right’s tarnished image, as opposed to our state’s murdered youths. It was not exactly an advantageous trade off for the good people of this state.
In a parallel development the radical right had taken to traveling up and down the West Coast visiting various communities hoping to create additional new opportunities (immoral criminal acts) where it was thought the local citizens wouldn’t realize what was transpiring. But, after a couple of years this source of victims had become depleted, too. Unfortunately, the experience helped the radical right develop a new technique which it named In-&-Out. Also, it made a decision which promises to be disastrous for Portland. It was felt that in the instance of certain parents who had already been duplicitously involved with the radical right in a subordinate way that they should be subject to accelerated “conditioning”, which would turn them into a source of local permanent operatives. The conditioning is a process which calls for strong social support coupled with subliminal programming, while their children are actively prostituted and/or asked to set up their peers in operations which were to pay quick and easy bounties, like the two previously mentioned youth’s deaths. This is an obvious exercise in corruption designed to develop vice ridden career criminals, which is what any other person engaged in such concrete behaviors would be classified: and, only because they work for the radical right are they merely called field operatives, as abusing power they afflict the communities they reside in. These are the people who are corrupt themselves and, realizing were the largess comes from, rarely respond in outrage to any corruption coming out of Washington D.C..
In-&Out is a policy where the radical right concentrates its operatives in a targeted community for short periods of time. It is felt that the members of the community will not become aware of how the radical right operates, as they arbitrarily pick their victims, either from dissidents, or for personal reasons, or for convenience, and who are then perverted and/or conditioned for adulterous relations often with scandalous overtones utilizing children when ever possible because of high media propaganda value, like the contrived Michael Jackson story, where Mr. Jackson’s deplorable perverse behaviors are correctly censored; and, meanwhile the radical right operatives who are said to be involved escape punishment, only to go on to repeatedly abuse other children with impunity in other communities all over the country. In-&Out is felt to optimize impact while minimizing and controlling the negative effects, because the people are never supposed to become aware of the presence of the radical right let alone learn how they operate
The Rumor Mill hopes you’ll consider certain significant factors that In-&-Out represents. It is a response to the clearly obvious fact that the radical right engages in immoral criminal behavior. And that ultimately the behavior of the radical right is injurious to the communities it operates in. A period of corruption is necessary before people will overcome reason and their inherent decency and accept it. And, after extended periods communities discover the sordid vice ridden and corrupt nature of the radical right, and begin to realize its significance and become dissatisfied with the profoundly negative impact of the radical right’s operations. The In-&-Out policy is a clear recognition by its directors that the radical right, when stripped of its phony façade, engages in immoral criminal conduct by career criminals, and it is a belated effort to cover up that central fact. Also, it’s a clear recognition that the radical right is opposed to equality and thus Democracy, except when they can manipulate it to serve their private ends; and, good men and women of sound (not corrupted) judgment object to the horrible things that they do. It is a clear recognition that the radical right behavior is wrong, anti-Democratic and not capable of sustained support where communities discover what they do and how they do it.
The unfortunate problem is tragic, because while recognizing the wrongfulness of the radical right’s conduct, In-&-Out presents a clear indication that they fully intend to continue misbehaving. In other words while recognizing the wrongfulness of their behavior they can’t control their own actions. They have become slaves to their own bigoted passions. The radical right will continue to fight personal problems of boredom with the pleasure of perverse predation. And, the radical right will fight to maintain their artificially elevated standards of living (remember bounties represent non-taxable income) at every one else’s expense; and, the corrupt base of the radical right is immoral criminal behavior, like child prostitution which is child abuse and preparing their perverted sex partners, predisposing individuals who have been perverted for the express purpose of sexually abusing children!. This behavior represents income tax evasion in the tradition of Al Capone, which is a felony that causes their neighbors to pay a disproportionate amount of taxes for schools, health care for the rapidly increasing number of poor children under the failed economic policies of the Republican Party, supportive services for our Senior citizens and valuable government agencies under funded by the Republicans like the FDA. The above mentioned behaviors by the radical right may be profitable for them, but they are inherently radically wrong, too!
Apart from the peculiar tenets of this contemporary populist movement, there is a World, subject to intensive propaganda, which is increasing its inclination to stretch the tyrannical powers of certain elite elements over society who in turn extend it over the individual, both by coercion of public opinion and by legislation; and, as the tendency to change all over the World is towards strengthening society, it results in a diminishing of the power of the individual, this encroachment is an evil which will not spontaneously stop, but because it serves the perceived interests of powerful right wing faction, which gives every appearance of having gone fanatical it will tend to increase. The inclination of society, whether rulers or as fellow citizens in a populist movement, is to impose their will, as rules dictating the conduct of others. The results we’ve briefly representatively touched on demonstrate that they can hardly ever be kept under restraint; and, unless we wish to see further tragic consequences (see previous issues) every effort must be made in this New Year to expose the evil iniquities and establish a strong barrier of moral conviction re-affirming our belief in Democratic ideals that are supported by egalitarian safeguards that protect the rights of the individual: we must prepare ourselves to see it increase, and resolve to fight to restore individual rights in the future. Remember, the future is ours for no tyranny has ever lasted forever.
It is presently convenient to take the argument to an objective standard to evaluate the direction our society is currently taking. The following is a list of social characteristics symptomatic of the greatest yolk of tyranny a society can experience: Genocide. The remarks are taken from A PROBLEM FROM HELL a politically incorrect book, which doesn’t accurately portray the critical role the Republican Party has played in the majority of the incidents of genocide presented in the book, it erroneously tries to credit the Democrats with an equal share of blame that they, with the exception of Carter, don’t deserve.
Genocide has two phases: one, the destruction of the national pattern of the oppressed group; the other is the imposition of the national pattern of the oppressor.” Clearly, this is a reasonably accurate description of either a, “Juden free Duetchland”, or a “drug free America”. Further, in a definition extrapolated from the 1948 convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,
Killing members of the group. The U.S. under Republican leadership deliberately under funded aides research in a public stated policy to murder the homosexual and IV drug user members of American society.
Causing serious bodily harm or mental harm to members of the group. There are the laws imprisoning individuals which have resulted in 75% of our prison population being incarcerated for political crimes that did not have any sighted victims, a group that represents the largest per capital incarceration rate in the World. There is the group that the radical right tortured and induced into engaging in self mutilation, and finally influenced into committing mass suicide that was centered in San Diego. There was the Republican Attorney general lead effort in Wacco Texas, which resulted in almost the entire group being massacred. Rumor Mill felt three prominent and representative examples from all over the country was adequate to document this point.
Deliberately inflicting on the group the conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole and in part. The drug tests which deny people the right to work conclusively qualifies to meet this criterion point for Genocide. Also, not allowing people the right to be in their own neighborhoods where they live.
Imposing measures intended to prevent births within a group
Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. Utilizing Child Protection Agencies to remove children from families that has a parent that recreationally uses drugs certainly meets this criterion.
In another statement from another part of the same book it stated, “What matters is 1 group intends to destroy the members of a group because of who they were.” And, “ They had to be a piece of a plan to destroy all or a part of the designated group.” Obviously, the U.S. has been engaged in extensive efforts at implementing Genocidal policies for almost 20 years based on these internationally determined characteristics. These efforts have negatively transferred into a general assault on individual rights, which was an extensive part of the radical right’s plan all along. Also, it filled a gap for America’s propaganda model at the end of the Cold War Era, until the terrorist threat could become adequately developed.
   The Rumor Mill hopes the New Year will witness a responsible move by the radical right beyond merely recognizing the obviously wrongful nature of the immoral criminal conduct by its career criminals. Only twice before in the history of mankind have populist movements like the radical right ever been able to restrain itself. And, that was during the last century; first, when it repealed prohibition; and, second, when it turned its back on McCarthyism. Hopefully, we will prove ourselves worthy of the cultural and ideological legacy of our ancestors, and return to the Democratic principles and monotheistic ideals that made the United States the promised land for the rest of the World, and not merely the greatest threat to World Peace.
   It is impossible in a short essay like this to develop all aspects of a general thesis that an important topic like Liberty deserves. The Rumor Mill realizes several points have necessarily been left neglected. However, it is hoped that the main points made pertaining to the Liberty of an individual and the only time society has a right to curtail personal freedom is to prevent the direct harm of others will serve to point to further considerations. All other encroachments even well intended ones lead to a disastrous abuse of power, an effect far worse than the greatest excess of personal liberty. It is essential that we re-establish our Civil Rights and institutional safeguards. Further, we need to augment these government institutional measures with effective moral beliefs, to protect us from the abuses we’ve experienced in the present circumstances of the World. And, although the liberties of thought, speech, writing, and action form a portion of the foundation for the political morality of the global community of nations which profess Democracy and egalitarian safeguards, and religious toleration and free institutions; the foundations, both metaphysical and pragmatically, on which they reside, are perhaps not familiar to the general public; nor, so completely appreciated by many of even the leaders of its public and private institutions as might be expected. The foundations when correctly understood, are of wider application than any one area of the subject, and its thorough consideration will further the appreciation of our partial evaluation here, and be found useful in further considerations to the remainder. Those who already understand the importance of what we’ve mentioned about Liberty will hopefully forgive my redundant efforts to update considerations now over 2,000 years old.
