This programme offers two major fields of study: (1) Bachelor of Arts degree in Translation with primary concentration in English and French; and (2) Specialist degree in Translation with primary concentration in English.
The Bachelor of Arts degree programme is intended for students who plan to pursue a career in the field of translation. The emphasis is upon acquiring skills necessary for becoming professional translators from English and French into Spanish. For students interested in graduate study in the field, it establishes a background adequate for continuing work and specialization.
The Specialist degree permits students to complete all requirements for the corresponding certification. It also allows translators to improve and perfect their language skills and to keep up to date in advances related to this field. The requirements for admisssion are: (1) B.A. or equivalent in the target language, in foreign language teaching, or another apprpriate discipline; (2) Undergraduate minimum Grade Point Average of 3.50 overall; (3) A proficiency test in English; (4) An interview conducted in the target language.
