It's about foreign language teaching:

methods, techniques, strategies, and... something else!

About Me

Hello! My name is Alfonso Puello. I am from one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia: Cartagena. I teach Methodology of Spanish as a Foreign Language in the School of Communication Sciences of the Universidad de Antioquia, Medellin. My pastimes and interests are wood carving, going outdoors, and guess what? computers!

About My Work

I am a teacher trainer in TEFL methodology and I have published articles on foreign language teaching. I am very much involved with research on language teaching resources and instructional media. I am also the author of the book Foreign Language Teaching.

In Short...

The main purpose of this book is to help teachers and teacher trainees to become better informed about the subject of foreign language teaching. The first four chapters are turned mainly towards theoretical aspects of language teaching, approaches, and methods. The remaining chapters point towards the questions of strategies and activities which constitute the teachers' "daily bread" and which they make use of in a particular area of the curriculum.

University of Antioquia Language School

The major programmes leading to a university degree in the School of Languages are designed to train students in the fields of foreign language teaching and translation. These two programmes also offer the possibility for continuing education and specialization.

The School also offers ESP courses for those students who choose to be trained in the reading comprehension of a foreign language.

The Extension programme is designed to give adult students the possibility to take English courses tailored to meet their needs and interests.
